What did you do TO your RAM today?

Thanks, sounds like they are doing what they’re supposed too. Any pictures installed? Curious the distance before engaging the axle compared to stock.

No pics.

They are contacting the axle statically.

Hooked up the empty toyhauler with a little water in it and took it to the scales. Also first drive towing after the .5” Thuren coils and Carlo add a pack. WDH came with the trailer and only for 1k tongue weight va my 1600lb plis tongue weight. Was surprised to see it’s still transferring weight well. Curious what a WDH rated higher would do.IMG_6809.jpegIMG_6814.jpegIMG_6815.jpeg

What does the truck weigh empty?

The trailer has 1600lbs TW empty? That would be over 20% TW.

Wouldn't an empty Toyhauler be biased heavy in the front?
Typically yes, but 20% empty still seems high. I wonder what model W&P that is, none of the ones I can find have a fridge in that location but I didn’t look to hard.

@Scooter29

Is this box/battery box factory? Just wondering if that's a mod you did and there's lots of extra weight there behind the propane tanks.

Yes I added the double battery box in the front then add weight of propane tanks and tool box with misc trailer things. It’s a W&P 21SE with the kitchen and bathroom all in the front.IMG_6816.jpegimage.jpg

Thanks! I've got the 17" Method Racing 315 Wheels, CJC Edition +25 Offset. No issues with rubbing 35's. I keep toying with the idea of 37's tho...

That debate is why I split the difference with the 315/70R18's instead of going with a 17" wheel. Very few tires in that size, but since I like Open Country M/T's for their durability it was a fit. Toyo advertises them as a 36x13R18 and they are the biggest ~35 I've ever run comparing them side by side with other trucks. If I ever feel the urge to switch to a less agressive tread when these are done for I might go to a 37x12.5, but for now I like the compromise tire since they cleared pretty well stock (very minor liner rub flexed out) and won't have any problems when I get my truck back from having all my Thuren and Carli bits installed this week.

If you don’t want to go so wide but you want to go taller a 285/75-18 is taller than a 35 but shorter than a 37

If I cared more about hwy mpg or dealing with ice those would've been on my list right along side 295/65-20, but I tend to shy away from anything narrower than 295s on these trucks. For me between 12"-13" wide seems to be the sweet spot to avoid rock cuts on all the gravel roads out here being able to run lower pressures with a wider footprint. I can still eek out between 17 and 20 hwy depending on speed and work pays for any fuel when I take these 500-600 mile cross state trips so the big fat meats have been good to me. When it comes time to get new tires I'm thinking about giving the Open Country R/Ts or R/T Trail a go since I've heard good things, but I would have to make the decision between stepping down to a 35x12.5 or up to 37x12.5. My only hold up to going to a 37 is that I would want to regear having an SO/RFE truck and thinking long term about the additional stress on the RFE when towing over time. If there was a simple way to get e-lockers like the PW I'd already be budgeting for 4.30's when they're available and those lockers.

Installed the Banks CAI in today and boost tubes and cut the hood scoop open to make it functional. Though it doesn't line up with the air intake. Still like it though.

Where is the air being directed to from your hood scoop? Hopefully it's not blowing over your engine, not sure what that would do except get everything dirty.

It wouldn't do anything except pull hot air from the top of the motor out through the rear of the hood. Its not gonna get any dirtier than it would now either.
