Rain sensitive wipers issue

As stated in the thread, the issue I was having (hands on wheel) was fixed by a flash that was rolled up into another larger TBS (sorry don't have that number) that included the park sense issue. Dealer should be able to cross-ref from the one in this post:

That’s funny, cause I have a parking sensor issues as well.

I use a good ceramic wax on all my windows and keep the rain sense wipers off. I don't have my truck yet... Patiently waiting for it to ship, but on my Rubicon and Redeye the ceramic infused wax works awesome. If you do it though I would clay bar the front windshield first and then apply the wax. You wouldn't believe how much crap i got in the bar when I finished.

I use Rain-X washer fluid and Bosch icon (or factory) blades and get the same results.
I am a LONG time user of RainX, do decided to try their washer fluid. Not a fan. Pretty ineffective if not used with regular applications of RainX. So I went back to regular RainX every time I wash one of our vehicles and cheap WW fluid.

Ok it rained yesterday, after reading Jimmy07 post i found out that my rain sensing wipers do work with provided information from him. I personally found it to be a feature I don't have a need for. I hope the members that are having issues get them sorted out and sorry I didn't understand how the feature was supposed to work.

LOL, thanks for sharing.

I remember when Rain-X wasn't a thing and we had vacuum operated wipers and high beam button switch on the floor.

Drank from a regular garden hose too. Surprised I'm still alive.

….cold sweats, haunted by memories of pulling fobs from my pocket. The horror… wake up screaming, sometimes.

Hey all- 2022 Laramie with the 2GH package.

My rain sensitive wiper cycle all on their own- with nothing on the windshield. They will cycle with rain or lost, but it's sporadic.

Anyone else had this issue?
My 2022 does the same. Going to dealership for different recall this week and will inquire. Don’t expect much help but you never know!

Fobs how about just a metal key.

Heck I can remember my Dad and Grandfather using a button on the floor to start their 49/50s GM trucks.

We even had a Ford 2n that was started with a hand crank.
I miss the days with regular keys i used to tack the key to a screwdriver handle was good for a laugh to new passengers

Dad had a 49 Chevy pickup with the floor starter, 3-on-the-tree. Neighbor girl had painted Road Runner on the doors cause he always gave them a beep-beep on his way past.

I (maybe/almost) had it on 2 wheels making a left hand turn too fast with a load in the bed while making a dump run hauling an old school bus (in parts) off some property he bought. Took my friend and I a good while to pick all those parts up from the side of the road. We did only see the right side tire marks. Oh, and I didn't have a DL at the time, I think I was 15-1/2 and maybe had my learners permit.

The following summer, I broke my arm crank starting an Allis Chalmers tractor grandpa had. Obviously, I was doing it wrong.

I remember all those things as well. Still drink out of the hose on hot Arkansas days. I missed the floor mounted high beam switch for a few years. Those were handy.

My first car was 6 volt (early 60's VW Beattle). Battery was loose under the back seat. Paid $50 for it when I was 15. Total POS, but man, those were the days!

But I don't pine for the vehicles from that era. New vehicles are orders of magnitude better in so many ways, IMO. Wife keeps talking about buying another '71 Cuda like the one I owned back then. I tell her that car was a lot better in my memory than it was in real life. I'd sooner buy another WRX for our roads in the Ozark Mts.

Sure, a modern vehicle are nice as long as one can afford having it.
I got a 78 Scout II in 1984 or so, after owning a few cars. That truck had been rode hard by a miner here in town and needed a ton of work. Even though I was making very little money, that work was done by me using that meager budget and a Chilton’s.
Before long, I was rolling out of town and into the vast nowhere at will and coming back reliably.
I can’t see a kid getting one of these trucks beat to heck and making it road worthy and reliable when almost every little thing can make it unusable period.
They have all the parts of the old plus an insane amount of BS and a mind of it’s own…an extra “key” would cost a kid over a weeks pay, for instance. A mystery module hidden who knows where can sideline the thing, to the point where guys who are perfectly competent shade tree mechanics historically are lost and stranded without coming here and @-ing the lone guru for a fix.
A ton of freedom has been frittered away as more tech has been added IMO. A lot of that has been mandated by government, the most useless has been clamored for..convenience, supposedly. The fact that mechanics are now “technicians” says it all, SMH.

I have mine set to ON in the UConnect setup and a biblical type rainstorm will not trigger the wipers to run automatically. Not a big enough deal for me to have my truck at the dealer for a week only to find out they can't find any issues.

I believe you also need to set the wiper control (on the steering column) to the first setting as well for it to work.

I think I read something about not using rain X as affects them. Maybe on my Toyota?
The Ram manual mentions that RainX can have an impact on the auto wipers. In my case, the impact was they were not wanted or needed.

Update: day 2 at the local dealer.
Mind you if they actually listened to what I brought it in for, this would be day 1.

Was told "You had the switch on the stalk off. We turned it on, sprayed the windshield with water and it works."
Besides being frustrated at the guy on the phone- I had to tell him 5x why I brought it in....he finally got it.

No codes, no idea. Said they will be escalating this up to the STAR group within the company for solutions.

Will post up with any new info.
