Morning all, Just found out that my 2019 Ram 2500HD diesel 4x4 have puddle lights in the mirrors (bought the truck used) however they're not working. After spending a few hours with the manual all i found is a small reference to them via the Uconnect but couldn't find the on/off settings. On the off chance that both are burnt out (I read its very common in those towing mirrors) I've ordered a new set. Now , are they suppose to light up when I unlock/lock the truck, or open the door, and can they be controlled via the Uconnect or not (I couldn't find any setting for it not in the manual or on the radio itself.
Any info would be appreciated.

I think they are connected to the 'Headlight Illumination on Approach' setting...

The lights in the mirrors on my 22 can be activated with this switch, do you have that?

There can be two sets of lights in the mirrors, puddle lights and aux reverse lights.

OP, can you confirm which ones you’re talking about?

Puddle lights should come on anytime the interior lights are on.

The aux reverse lights need to be manually turned on by pressing the cargo light switch when you are in N or R.

This is the mirror mounted aux reverse light, not the puddle lights.

Yes I do. The puddle lights are working when you open any of the front doors, but they are very dimmed so I'll change them . Thanks for the info.

Did you replace the bulbs or did you replace the whole light assembly?

If you replaced the assembly or bulbs what did you replace them with?

I replaced the whole light assembly, I bought it online on Amazon they cheap enough, and you can find it cheaper
easy install except for the connectors, I had to use the original connectors. What a difference in light. Its so bright.
That’s what you used? Those look like they are for the 10-18 mirrors, not 19+.
Not sure what to tell you. My build sticker on the door dates 09/10/2019

I agree your truck is a 2019 model, I’m simply stating the Amazon listing you linked is for the older 10-18 mirrors and that style puddle lamp so
I was confirming that’s what you used. If that is what you used it’s likely why the connectors were wrong.

No worries, thank you for bringing it to my attention. I should have paid better attention to the product. Amazon lately is falling short with what they allow venders to post. Usually I only buy OEM. LOL at least I got it to work

I wonder if it's because he doesn't have the surround cameras? Mine are completely different and very dim, I wish there was an upgrade to this style

I also have the surround view, but I’m happy with the low intensity they put out. It’s perfect for walking around the truck in the dark.

That seller shows a 2019 or newer HD when you select the one that has the sequential mirror signal lights.

I am not seeing that. I do see a couple of typos on 2010-2019 2500/3500 when they also say 2010-2018 4500/5500.

As I said, there is a lot of misleading information on the front page, but when you look closer inside the seller breaks it into 2010-2019 for 1500. 2010-2018 on the 2500 and 3500 . Same goes for the 4500-5500. I looked all over Amazon and every seller with those lights have the same information.
