Has anyone had any luck using AlphaOBD AlfaOBD to rewrite the levels for your stock air suspension? I really feel like mine (19 3500 HO SRW SB) are constantly over inflated. Doesn't matter if it's normal ride height or alt trailer height. It's just too much.

I've reduced air pressure in my tires, I've done the adjustable links (only way I could get the dang truck level left/right), these have helped a little bit. Ideally, imo, if Ram would change anything, it would be to have the stock air where you could adjust it as needed, loaded or unloaded, with a turn nob or something, but I digress....

I'd like to try changing the ride height in the system & see if that makes a difference. I'm not sure what the spec is supposed to be though (in mm) and which direction I would need to adjust them to. (Currently the left is at 4mm and the right is at -5mm) So before I go inventing the wheel, I was curious if anyone else has tried this route before?

I have t heard of anyone doing that with alfa, would be interesting to see if someone else chimes in that you can...

If it is anything like my 3500 DRW with air, you can't adjust it. It is a manual switch that is activated by weight going on to the leaf spring. Airing your tires down won't help because that doesn't change the leaf spring position. The "alternate" ride height just changes the switch position on the lever. I couldn't find a way to change the PSI in the bags either to change height. (I liked my manual bags better)

AFAIK, there's only the base calibration setting and the last guy I saw try to mess with it screwed it up so bad he had to have the dealer flash the BCM.

If you do anything, make sure you have a backup BCM file and the system ID (settings) saved.

Most will just manually adjust the level sensor arms some. There's also replacement arms or you could probably womp some up on your own using the appropriate size allthread.

It’s been decades since I dealt with any air suspension stuff and only in class 8 type trucks, but as I recall the systems only use enough air pressure to reach the height setting of the height sensor.

In other words the system only uses the required air pressure to reach and hold the desired height set by the sensor no matter what the weight.

Does the Ram system work differently?

I'm pretty sure that's how the system on my 3500 works. It holds the same height regardless of weight (within reason). Empty, 500lbs of motorcycle or 2k lbs of marble floor it's the same height.
