Adding adaptive cruise

ill try a Witech Enter Plant Mode on the DASM again sometime and see if it changes anything. Maybe there was a software update on Witechs side or something they did in the past 4 weeks since I last did it. Did it many times previously with no luck so may as well try again.

Keeping my fingers crossed this will eventually get solved. Doesn't make any sense it works for some and not others.

No luck after entering plant mode again. WiTech process was ever so different, so they had updated software. After entering plant mode it used to say turn off ignition and let bus go to sleep. Now it just exits right away. No difference though in anything. Still a vehicle configuration mismatch in the DASM.

I have reversed all AlphaOBD settings for this and am leaving this until somebody finds a solution. I reversed everything, have my normal Cruise Control back. I tried just enabling the "ACC/DASM Adaptive Cruise Control/Driver Assistance Module" setting to enable the module but leave all FCW/ACC/HighBeam settings as off. Still got the Misonfiguration error even after multiple enter plant modes. So just reversed it and am assuming this just doesn't work for whatever reason. Need somebody else new to try this out and see what their results are.

I'm probably going to do the same, loose the auto high beam though. I tried different combinations and found that if I didn't disable everything that the cruise controls for set up and down would actually speed up the engine revolutions or slow it down just sitting in park, probably not a good thing.

My last suspicion is that I need a new ABS module or it needs reprogramming too. I have found my ABS module says that ACC is Not Present.

I’d be curious if others could provide a copy of what they see in AlfaObd when they connect to their ABS module and read status information. Hopefully somebody who has this working could post so we have both sides of the picture.

This is just a stab in the dark but I’m looking everywhere for any slightest thing that looks off.

For reference this is a snippet of what I see in my ABS Module. Note the last line.

ECU Part Number: 68530686AC

Hardware Supplier Identification: TRW
Software Logical Block Supplier Identification: TRW

Are you able to reprogram the ABS module with WiTech? I see a few available on ebay for under $150, might be worth trying a used one and reprogramming so you don't risk messing up your original module?

You can reinitialize in WiTech and get a new/used one working in your truck. But can’t change the configuration in WiTech or Alfa. I suspect I’d need to buy one which came from a truck with ACC so the config is preset.

I’d like to see what others see in their ABS module first to see if this is something or nothing.

That looks normal, this is from my '22 with ACC

So is this dead now? Anyone still looking into this to see why it's not working? I bought all the parts except the expensive ones (windshield, DASM). I don't want to spend that money on something that won't work or potentially disable my current functionality.

I think the best answer is that it’s worked for some and not worked on others. Sample size is too small to say why either way.

If I were to do it again I’d just buy the DASM and the harness and get it working temporarily hooked up in the passenger seat. Before actually installing anything. Make the AlfaOBD changes etc. Make sure the modules talk to each other and don’t error out like some of us have. If it works then spend the time installing and calibrating.

But we need more people to try this and see if it works t not. See if any patterns emerge.

TXJosh is the only one I have actually seen that got it working (besides Jimmy07) but he has not responded to this thread since.

I just don’t have any new info. It’s definitely something going on with the actual wiTECH alignment procedure. The vehicle configurations are setting correctly with AlfaOBD, because people are still adding this feature successfully on the TRXs and 1500’s. The only difference with them is, all TRXs and all 2021+ Laramie and higher trims are equipped standard with the DASM, so they don’t have an alignment procedure to go through. And, most of them doing this are 2021+ owners. There hasn’t been anyone reporting doing it on the pre-2021 1500’s (which does involve adding the DASM) since around the time TCJosh was successful.

So do you think if somebody who has this working, maybe even from factory, and they did an alignment it would break it?

Sorry, hope it didn't sound like I was calling you out for not responding. I was referring to TXJosh.

You mentioned the Laramies. Mine is a 2020 Laramie 3500. I know that model year did come with the DASM, just not standard. Would that make any difference? Have you had anyone fail with a Laramie?

That’s my guess, and this has actually happened before. There is a guy on the 5thgenrams forum that had windshield replaced, they performed an alignment, and nothing works. The only thing is, it took place a while ago (before this issue), but they still can’t get it working now.
