2022 Aisin Failure Tracking Sheet

You are on the list.
I’m sorry this happened and I wish I could give you more help but I’m a long ways away. Glad you were at least able to get out of harms way. Please keep us updated and if you need any further assistance or info let us know
i dont think i am on the list

Received an update today. After the service manager told me on Tuesday parts were still 5 weeks out, I told them I will lemon law the truck and I would be speaking with an attorney. Magically all the parts to rebuild the trans showed up last night. I again asked for the stellantis rep to reach out to me to discuss next steps from here, with a deadline of next Tuesday

Driving a 22 3500 HO daily, every few weeks will tow a 14K 5th wheeler for weekend or holiday camping, but with the failure list getting longer, should I reduce my camping schedule, or tow more to expedite the failure? I have no answer yet, but I believe it would eventually come as it should, just don't let me strained on way.

Don’t live in fear, most won’t fail.

What is your trucks “date of manufacture” (build date) ?

Update on my Ram 3500:

When the Truck started showing signs of an issue with the Transmission, I was 15 min north of Greer Arizona on a Fire Road. This is out in the middle of nowhere in eastern Arizona @ about 10,500 ft elevation. Contacted my buddy who is one of the part’s managers @Earnhardt Ram, one of the largest Dealerships in the US. He was familiar with the Trans issues and had the K-1 Clutch kits in stock as well as other parts that are on a list Ram has put out as possible additional parts required.

I then called Horne Ram in Show Low, where Arizona, the closest Dealer to the location the trans failed. I spoke to the service manager. He said he was familiar with the Trans issue as he had 3 Trucks sitting there waiting for Parts. I asked how long the wait for parts he said 45-60 days. I told him Earnhardt had them in stock, he told me to tow it to them since they had the parts.
Had the truck towed to Earnhardt last Saturday, spoke to Mark Ray, the Service Advisor my buddy suggested. He said he was aware of the K-1 issues. He stated Even though one of there Transmission techs was out on vacation this week it would be done before I had to leave on vacation. They were able to get to it Friday, as there were a few truck ahead of mine. The Tech worked on it all day Friday and then came in this morning to finish it, as did Mark Ray on his day off.

They called me this morning around 8 and said I could come get it. As I was scheduled to go out of town on Tuesday with my 42 ft. Toy Hauler to California, this was great news. I’m crossing my fingers that all is well, but so far so
good, truck drives great. I can’t say enough good things about Earnhardts Parts Department,Service techs and Mark Ray my Service Advisor. Now I will probably have to fight Ram for towing reimbursement, since I had it towed to the Dealer with the Parts and know how to fix it, not the closest Dealer.

To anyone that has a similar situation, I would recommend finding one of the largest Dealers you can. They will be more likely to have parts available and Techs with experience on the K-1 Failure.
OP my Trans # 2H-3600

@Ram It! thanks for the update. Glad to hear you’re back on the road. A 9 day turn around time is pretty good considering I just updated another repaired truck that took 97 days.

It may be the larger Dealers with bigger Service Departments may be getting priority on parts,

My dealer is pretty big but unfortunately, is down several techs.

Mine was built in March of 22, has 22k+ miles on it and hasn't broke yet. I towed my 18/19,000 lbs toyhauler during the winter frequently and it never broke. Everytime I tow, I expect it to fail in the back of my mind, but it hasnt yet.

In contrast, a friend of mine with the same build month lost his twice ‍♂️

not sure how to check exact build date, but according to my sig, it seems in late Aug 2022, pretty much in that window.
Next time you open your driver door, there is a white sticker with truck info on the side of the door. One of the items will say “date of manufacture”. You can confirm there to be sure

Not sure if this has been posted but the link to the TSB is here: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10231775-9999.pdf

I called RAM Care a week before ours went out and told them we had horrible power in 1st gear. I was scared to cross two lanes of traffic with the truck. Poser did not kick in until it shifted to 2nd. They did not mention the TSB but said to take it to a dealer for diagnostics. I only post this as it may be a symptom of future failure. It might not, but figured I would put it out there. From a dead stop, I could floor it, it would take 8 seconds to get moving and shift into 2nd. We timed it. It is now at the dealer and we should hear something Monday. I will say RAM Care on weekends is horrible.

I didn't give it much thought at the time, but on the trip when when it failed I noticed that lag in 1st gear. I attributed it to the slide-in camper, but I did not notice it while towing the 5th wheel.

I never noticed while towing either. Maybe the Tow haul button being on masks it. the lag for us was really only bad when unhooked not in tow haul.

Its confirmed, snap ring. They are dropping the pan and looking for debris now. Pic for amusement. Dang Fords.
