Dan's 2023 2500 Tradesman UNLimited

For anyone seeking wire or antenna routing to the bed, this grommet on the back wall is accessible without removing seat.

2 harnesses passenger side under seat present but not used on my Tradesman, 1 harness on drivers side under seat.

Plastic cover for upper seatbelt anchor just comes off, just give it a yank on both sides, giving access to two 13mm bolts

Two seatbelt anchors in center have spring retention washers, for an assembly line efficiency I'm sure.

And the reason I point it out, some of the seatbelt anchor holes are clear holes to the environment so I will be replacing all the bolts in their respective holes before proceeding. Removed the spring retention washers to use bolts without the seatbelt anchors.

Very interesting. Thanks to your plan we get to see how easy it is to remove the rear seat.
Very easy! Double the bolts for the split bench folks however. I didn't find them extremely difficult to remove, either the factory has cut down on the locktite or I didn't give the rust and grime enough time to do its thing :p

I did not account for this (in my imagining) being not removable so I will make my finished back wall a couple of inches taller to hide it. Of course, it is removable by dealing with a handful of spot welds but the juice isn't worth the squeeze long term on that.

Rough cut dimension for flat floor 41"x63"
Rough cut dimension for back wall 26"x62"

Finished floor will work out as imagined not blocking the rear AC vents. For the small amount that it's worth, I don't thinking putting effort into extending the under seat ducts will be attempted. I'll get some unscientific data before I make the final decision, I'm guessing console vents put out more than the floor vents.

Thanks for posting those pics up. I’ve been considering removing the 60% side of my rear seat to make more room for my dog.

The rear vents probably put out more air than the under seat vents, but if you have the heat on and set to floor only then all of the air for the rear is coming out of those under seat vents, so you may want to extend them anyway, or find some way to block them off completely if you don’t need that air to the rear.

A good observation, thank you. Because I would be essentially trapping air in the footwells because of the dog platform, I may be better off blocking them off completely.

I think you would be better of keeping them there and ensuring you can get airflow out of the under platform area.
