So I know it’s gotta be possible to add the second fuel tank that is offered from the factory, but cannot find a parts list or a how to on the forum. So my question is how can I add this to my cab and chassis?

@Jimmy07 may know the answer i believe it can be done fairly easy but not 100% sure

That would be amazing! I truly don’t see it being super difficult, tank, pump harness maybe…..I just don’t know if there needs to be a toggle switch to change tanks, or does one feed the other etc hopefully he has the answers I need!

I know you will need alfaOBD for sure

2nd fuel tank?

Yes sir, I have the 52 or 54 not 100% sure what most cab and cassis trucks come with…..I had a 100 gallon external in the bed but it got in the way, way too often so I got rid of it. Now I’m missing having the extra fuel when we are pulling the camper long distance so I would like to add the 22 gallon mid ship tank.

I have ALFAOBD so that isint a problem, I’ve added remote start, and the trailer TPMS for the camper….next is the fuel tank and then maybe the trailer surround cameras

The C&C have a second tank at the rear where the spare tire normally would be

Oh nice, I saw that offered aftermarket but wasn’t aware it was a c/c option. Sounds like something that can be modded with alfa, you are able to change settings when going from the 30 gal to the 50something.

I truly don’t know how it would work, just know it’s an option in the build phase to have both tanks……in my mind if it can be added at the factory it should be able to be added afterwards…….but is it worth the hassle and money? I hope it is

Im not sure the cost but it would be worth it for sure to have the extra fuel without loosing deck space running an aux tank

Jimmy07 had contacted me and I was hoping he could get a parts list together but have not heard anything back from him. Hopefully he is able to come through with a list of things that I need.

Based on another thread it sounds like he got a bit swamped outside of the forum, I am sure he'll respond when he can.

I get it…honestly I do! Just hoping to get help. Really wanna get it done.

So interestingly, I may be looking for this same info myself. I'm looking around for other trucks since mine's stuck in not-shipping hell and I may end up with a truck with only the rear 52 gallon tank.

If I go this route, I am leaning towards getting a transfer flow 50 gallon midship tank, because who wouldn't want 102 gallons without taking any cargo space away?

With the transfer flow there are two options if you don't have the dual tank from the factory.. Either you get a $250 kit from them that plumbs the midship tank into the rear tank (presumably the opposite of the factory setup, and I doubt you get dual gauges on the dash) or you get the factory parts and install the tank like the OEM dual tank setup.

Hopefully Jimmy can find that part list but if not there is the alternative option from Transfer Flow.

I think Titan has a setup where they mount a 30 gallon tank with pump in the spare tire pocket under the bed. Pricy, but it looked like a slick setup.

I have the factory dual tanks, 52 in the rear and 22 midship. From the factory, it runs on the 22 and periodically pumps a few gallons from the 52 to replenish the smaller tank. If it comes from the factory with just the 52 gallon aft axle tank, I would think adding the 22 gallon midship tank and all the re-plumbing involved would be a considerable project as well as considerable cost.

I haven't researched the aftermarket solutions but I'm betting it's cheaper and easier.

Edit: Just checked out Transfer Flow's website and the only 50 gallon midship tanks I saw were for longer wheelbase trucks, like minimum 84" CA. Maybe I'm missing something? 102 gallons would be sweet.

I would love to do all factory stuff, I’ve done a bunch of aftermarket stuff before in other trucks and had nothing but trouble….so OEM is the way to go for me.

With that being said I am fully capable of adding parts just don’t know what all I need to make it happen.
