Won't start after a weeks holiday.

Thanks for the photos and your trouble.

Any time. Nice to have these forum by which to share information. Just be sure to use the brand name velcro. I bought a roll of "industrial strength" velcro and still have some left after ten years. Works great.

There are several reasons I don’t want my NOCO under the hood. It makes it harder to use for other batteries, but I also don’t think it’s a good environment for it. They are only rated to 104°F, so either you wait for the truck to cool down to plug it in, or you are operating above its threshold.

I have the pigtail attached to the truck, so all I have to do is pop the hood and connect the charger. The charger is mounted to the wall near the front of the truck and I have a NOCO 10’ extension on the cable.

I probably use the NOCO with other batteries every month or two.

I have had the same Ctek under the hood of my 2012 Cummins and I moved it to my 21' Pwerwagon. I plug it in at least once a week in the summer and more in the winter. I had the same batteries in my '12 for 9 years doing this method

@AH64ID and @CdnHO ... Made my mind on the Genius10 and not the GenPro10. I don't really need it built in because my truck sits for most of the winter and the GenPro10 does not have the constant 12 volt mode. I also will probably need it occasionally for other batteries.
So thanks guys for the help and if you guys want to open a Ram school I would be honored to enrol. :D

If you dont want to run the ring terminal pigtail to the battery you could take the ring terminal quick connect from the kit and put the ends in a 7 pin trailer plug so all you need to do is plug the trailer plug in to the truck and it will charge…. I have done this so i can use the one maintainer on multiple vehicles

Wouldn't you need a 7 pin trailer adapter plug? Sounds good but I'm having a hard time visualizing what parts go into what.

No you just use a trailer side plug one wire to the 12V pin and the ground to the ground.

I went and bought myself a Genius 10 also order the eyelets to bolt on but where in the sam hill did you guys run the power cord to reach outside...I gave up for now and just ran it through the hood.

I still run mine thru the hood. I like it that way.

Mr. tough guy eh

yeah…somebody called me that on here about something, so I put it on as a joke and now can’t get it gone..
Still think that a truck that can’t sit a couple of weeks without eating it’s battery is ridiculous, though. No wonder the stock batteries don’t last long.

It’s the way of the world unfortunately. Gotta go back a ways to get away from the circuit boards, which I did today. Went and bought a 72 Honda CT 90 Trail bike.
The battery is bad and it won’t friggen start either. 50 years old technology also hangs in the balance of a battery tender. There is no winning I tell ya.

Since my NOCO is velcroed to the fuse box lid I used a short air conditioner extension cord and ran it down along the radiator to the area behind the bumper. I wire tied it so it cannot migrate somewhere where it shouldn't. I also attached a Chrysler bulletin regarding where to connect the charger on a vehicle with the IBS that will guide you in terms of where to connect the negative cable of the charger.
