I have a similar, without the lights. The tape won’t hurt the paint, it’s the same tape that holds badges on the truck. I’ve removed badges from vehicles that are several years old and minus minor paint fade no damage had been done to the clear coat.
 
I have the one without the lights. My rig is black so it’s hardly noticeable. This is my second one as my last truck had one too. They adhere well and have had no issues with them over many years. Put on and forget.
 
Yep either that or rock chips, pick your poison.
 
Does anyone have install pics of where to splice in for the lights/turn signals.

Good point, I wasn’t even thinking about the badges…
 
Had one of these installed on the wife’s jeep. Blew off and was a pain in the a$$ to get the tape off. Left a bunch of little scratches from trapped dirt. Had to buff the whole hood .

Mine has tape that’s just about continuous all the way around. If prepped correctly with alcohol wipes I can’t see this thing coming off unless it takes the paint with it!
 
I’ve driven over 50,000 miles with mine and been through several car washes. All edges are still firmly stuck. It too has almost the entire edge with tape. Comes with a prep pad to clean the paint. Only clean where the tape will lay.
 
I bit the bullet and bought the Pro version…the lights tie into the directionals and a bunch of other things…looks pretty cool.
I looked at the installation instructions and called AVS and they confirmed 3M tape all around. I can’t imagine it coming off but I guess I will find out..
 
I am going to post this in the exterior section but does anyone with a 4.5 Gen know where I can tap into my turn signals and parking lights? I don’t have my new truck yet so I can’t look under the hood.
