Are they supposed to? I didn't notice one anywhere in the vehicle, I'll have to go dig through the bags I got to see if one was included.

There was a thread a few months back that talked about it "maybe" being there but I don't think anyone said they could find one lol. They are like $10 on amazon though.
Yeah, I'd rather just not have to deal with the stupid 12 pin connector I will never use. I saw someone say something about switching it out for the 4 pin connector. So I'll probably start a thread to see if someone has some instructions on how to replace it with a 4 pin. It jus saves me from having to track another piece needed for towing.

Exactly - I will ONLY go with the factory warranty - for the above reason. I've had some challenges with my 2016 RAM, but other than the "that's considered a wear item" relatively minor issues, it's never been a question. And if there are issues, I can escalate it within the manufacture's management chain. I had a very bad experience with a 3rd party warranty in the past, where they refused coverage, then conveniently went out of business, leaving me SOL. I'm not too worried about that with the OEM warranty.
My strategy - for the last few new vehicles I've bought - is to buy the longest transferrable factory extended warranty I can - currently 8 years - then sell the vehicle privately within 12 months of the end of the warranty. For something like $50, the new owner can transfer it, and be assured of being covered in the event anything goes wrong with their used vehicle purchase. It's a major selling point. Just beware that the unlimited mileage option - if offered - does NOT allow transfer.
The parts costs these days are absolutely insane - all it takes is one repair, and the extended warranty has probably already paid for itself. In addition, it's almost impossible to repair these vehicles yourself anymore. In my 2010 RAM, I had it in for service, and they upgraded the NAV system, which bricked the radio/NAV. A $4k repair, covered. I've had extended factory warranties on 2 trucks, 3 minivans, and my C7 Corvette. For every one of them except the Corvette, the extended warranty was financially a very smart investment. That include RAM, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, and Chevy. All but the 'vette had expensive repairs done during the extended warranty that were 100% covered.
You pays your money and takes your choice, but factory extended for me all the time. I'll be getting one for my 2023 if it ever gets built!

Buying an extended warranty is like betting against yourself. Imagine you're playing a game where you have to pay a fee to play, but if you win, you get a prize. Now, someone comes along and offers you the chance to pay extra money for an "extended prize protection plan." This plan promises to cover the cost of the prize if you don't win, but only if you pay extra upfront.
While it may seem like a good idea to protect yourself in case you don't win, the reality is that the odds are in favor of the house. In other words, the game is designed so that it's more likely you'll lose than win. So, by buying the extended prize protection plan, you're essentially betting against yourself and paying extra money for something that's unlikely to happen.
Similarly, when you buy an extended warranty, you're essentially betting against the product you're buying. While it's true that some products may have expensive parts that could break, the likelihood of that happening during the extended warranty period may be low. So, you're essentially paying extra money for something that may not happen. Instead, it's often better to invest that money and use the capital gains to repair the product if it does break down outside of the warranty period.
RAM is providing you with high parts prices and a headache to repair yourself so the option of paying them more money for insurance (which is also a bad deal) seems better. Business 102.

I agree with the logic behind your analysis, and the same could be said of any insurance, life, casualty, property, etc. Thankfully there are choices... I have collision insurance on my vehicles, but I hope to never use it. The point is to limit exposure to expensive repairs, and for me, that's been a good bet.
When I run the numbers on the past 5 new vehicles I've bought, 4 of the 5 have had covered repairs that exceeded the costs of the extended warranty. On my 2016 RAM, it included 1) front calipers, brake hoses, master cylinder and ABS unit; 2) Front axle disconnect actuator, and 3) replacement of the steering box to resolve an on-center steering looseness and clunk. I also believe that the residual value of being able to sell the used vehicle with a transferrable factory warranty is significant in making it more attractive (and valuable) to a buyer compared to a used vehicle with no warranty.

That’s a beautiful truck. Congratulations. I also ordered from MD should be arriving any day now. I’m curious about you picking up in nine days last I talked to them. They indicated that it probably won’t be until April before they have the parts to fix the recall

Been sort of quiet in here lately about actual order updates. Maybe we are between groups that are early on in the order process and others that have received their truck. Found out this week mine is a in a railyard in Ohio just waiting for a truck to the dealer. My dealer still thinks it will be the last 2 weeks of this month. I had a really long wait with no action (about 4 months), but once it was built it shot through crazy fast.
There was a group of guys stuck at offsite vendors for awhile a week or so back. You guys ever get an update that you made it into a railcar?

Im with you. Sales gimmick and doesn't normally pay off.
It's always the, "well there are electronics in the car" and "a camera could go out."
At a toyota dealer they said to me, "What if your wiper blades go bad?" lol

Updates depend on your dealer I think. MD called me as soon as the truck hit US soil and aid it'd be another 10 days and it was.

Thanks. The only part I really don't like is that it runs concurrent with the factory warranty. You pay for 8 year and only really get 5....

Yeah, I'm one of those stuck (for 33 days now) at the offsite vendors. It's not the waiting so much as wondering what piece/part that's holding the final production up. Oh well, cie la vie!
The randomness of Ram is for sure a bewildering one. What items constitute offsite work? Spray-in bedliner, steps, rock rails, tonneau cover? Mine has the spray-in liner, steps and tonneau. It was only there a few days, but I'm just assuming I'm the one they accidentally did soon after receiving it. I haven't heard of any order restrictions lately that may indicate one of those items are a problem-child.

Finally got into the track my ram site.... it says the order wasn't processed until February 25th, so I might be waiting a long while. (Unfortunately).

I ALSO ORDERED SIDE STEPS (WHEEL-TO WHEEL FLAT CHROME) AND SPRAY-IN LINER, BUT NOT THE TONNEAU COVER OR THE ROCK RAILS. I GUESS YOU PLAN ON OFF-ROADING A LOT?
