What is the best looking and best performing 3 peak rated tire?

Interested to hear when people start hearing the Falken's start howling. I put them on my wife's Durango (in 33" flavor) and after about 15k they are LOUD. I can hear her coming about a quarter mile sooner than my neighbor running Toyo MTs next door. They've worn great and we'll likely be replacing them at about 40k. I traded the 4th gen I was running them on (37" flavor) so never got to that point with it.
I had 25k on my last set (before I traded the Jeep in yesterday) and they never got any louder than they were day one.

Did you guys just rotate them by chance? My ridge graps were always quiet until I rotated them at about 15k and then they were super loud for a short time and quietened back out. They’ve got 25k on them now. I was looking at the falkens for the next set but I don’t want loud tires.

Nope. They were mild for the first few rotations (slightly louder than stock, but not offensive), then right around 15k they got crazy loud. We now have a bit over 40k on them now and they've been loud as hell for every second of the last 25k.

They are still wearing extremely evenly, and still do well in the snow, so it's hard to bail on them too early, but we definitely won't be buying another set.

I find that very odd. Mine are so new I can't comment beyond they are so much quieter than I expected. They are so quiet I've wondered if the noise cancelling is the reason I don't hear more noise from them. Is your noise cancelling still functioning?

Since you're nearing the end of their life anyway, and I'm going to guess your plan would be to replace them before next winter, I'd be tempted to do a non-standard rotation on them and see if that changed the sound any.

Our Durango doesn't have ANC, so not a factor there. The 2016 2500 I had them on before trading it on my 2020 also didn't have ANC, but I didn't have the truck/tire combo long enough to know.

But yes, I've tried multiple rotation patterns, have had them re-mounted and balanced and nothing has helped.

I've also done a bunch of research to see if they use a different compound across the sizes, but from everything I've been able to tell the only place there is a difference is when looking at the SL/LT sizes, so not a factor in this equation.

This was what I noticed with a friends set of them.

5 tire rotation every 5k miles.

Falken Wildleaks AT3’s. Starting to get pricy though.
I paid $2096 shipped to the house through discount tire direct. At the time, they beat Nitto and Toyo by a hundred or so. After putting a few hundred miles on these, I'm impressed with how quiet they are and the ride. They're not much louder the the FS the truck came with. They ride great but, when you start pushing high 70's you can feel a difference in the handling - a little softer. You feel that side to side a little more when changing lanes, taking ramps, etc... was expecting that tho.

I feel every bump in the road on my 37" Falkens. Do you notice this too? I run 35lbs in the rear and 40lbs front. Is that just the 10ply talking back to me?

The ride feels softer to me - not feeling everything like I did with the Transforce tires. The tire shop aired put 35 lbs in all the way around but, I was planning on adding about 5 lbs to the front.

Those tires have a LI of 129 at 65psi, so you can probably air down more.

40 psi is good for 2915lbs/tire, which is nearly FAWR on a 6.7 and not needed on a Hemi.

45 psi would give you air for 3,150/tire
35 psi would give you air for 2,680/tire
30 psi would give you air for 2,395/tire
25 psi would give you air for 2,095/tire

In a mostly empty hemi you’re probably good to run 30/25 around town and light highway driving.

Thanks for that. My latest scaling was 4600/3600. So 2300/1800 would be where I could run I guess. As long as I don't buy too many groceries. :p

Now that I think about it....My ProcalSnap won't let me go that low without setting off a light. 35lbs is the lowest setting with 75% low threshold on the warning.
I have it at 35lbs hot and in the cold mornings (not nitrogen) it drops to about 30ish.

AlfaOBD might be able to go lower.

You want to set cold pressure, not hot pressure.

I understand the statement, but want to also ask....Why? I ride at hot pressure, cold pressure is not there very long at all considering the tire size and pressures we are talking about....and KY temperature swings.
If I set cold at 35....I'd be at 40+ before I got to work.

Because you can’t consistently measure hot tire pressure. You can get consistent cold readings.

Because there are too many variables to hot pressure.

All tire manufacturers use cold pressure for their load and inflation tables.
