Have a 22 bighorn dually with the heated steering wheel.
During the ice storm a couple weeks ago, I went to get out of the truck and stepped on ice causing my feet to slide out from under me. After slipping around for a few seconds, I got my feet under me and along I went. I had grabbed the steering wheel to brace myself and probably had all my weight on it the whole time i was slipping. goober moment for sure

Later that day I noticed the top of my steering wheel had a rip in it. Looks more like a pressure rip vs something slicing it. First few days there were a couple pieces flapping up on it - have tried to avoid it but it's at 10 o'clock on the wheel.

any remedies other than replacing the steering wheel?

Better a tear on the wheel than a broken bone. Can't help with a fix but I would put a cover on the wheel for two reasons. 1 Keep it from getting worse. 2 You won't have to look at it all the time...

yep - didn't think much about it until later that I felt the rips flapping around.

the ironic part of it my last truck was a tradesman and the steering wheel was the about the only thing i didn't like about. contemplated replacing the steering wheel - never did, and now this...
