Has anyone looked into doing the CAT fuel filter conversion? Just wondering what’s everyone’s take on this, and if it’s worth it or not.

I can't offer much aside from the reason I decided not to pursue it, warranty. *If* the cp4 was to blow up the last thing I need is to try to explain to some service writer that the CAT filter had nothing to do with it.

If you're out of warranty or don't care about warranty then it might be worth it.

Just to piggyback another question on this and some food for thought, I always wondered if this would add more resistance to the lift pump. On my 3rd gen I put a cat filter and Donaldson fuel water separator in line. I always wandered what kind of stress that added to the lift pump.

I'd be concerned about potentially compromising the warranty. And although a CAT filter is easier to change, I'm not convinced that a CAT system is superior to the current Cummins/Fleetguard system for removing nasty bits and water.
