TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

I ordered everything from AllMoparParts.com on 4/21. Yesterday, I received a notice that everything shipped. Hopefully they didn't substitute any part numbers.

I didn't get the best deal on the TPMS sensors, but I wanted to order from one store instead of multiple.

The TIM provides electrical isolation, and it is responsible for gating messages between the two CAN busses. Devices on either side of the TIM might not behave properly if they see messages from the other side. For example, the TPM may have a very limited CPU or RAM that can't process all CAN bus messages fast enough, so the TIM shields the TPM from unrelated messages. The TIM may also consolidate and/or translate one message type to another (dissimilar protocol formats).

Similarly, the main security gateway may freak out if it sees messages from the TPM; it might consider those messages hostile.

These systems were tested with the TIM installed. It may be a safety risky to bridge the two CAN busses without the TIM in the middle.

Those are definitely possibilities. I’ll definitely do some driveway testing prior to hitting the road. Unless of course the TIM suddenly becomes available again.

I got screwed. I ordered the TIM with moparwholesaleparts.com on 4/25 and was told they had the part. Today, I received notice that they don't and now there are none to be had.

Same here. Except they sent a different part and said you need this part # instead.

Just got this email an hour ago. Some will be lucky and some will not.

Not even sure if I am one or not.

Got my TIM from AllMoparParts and jumper from Jimmy07 today. All hardware is installed. Still have to do the AlphaOBD work this weekend to enable.

Expecting both mine tomorrow, but FedEx (TIM) and USPS (Jimmycable™) are involved so that's a crap shoot.

61F and mostly sunny Saturday. Perfect day to crawl around under the dash and work in the headliner doing wiring.

I've been holding off installing my dash cam front/rear and 2WD Low kit until I have everything. Now that I've figured out how to get an Aux switched power, an ignition, and a BAT+ from the upfitter jumper inside the cab (find the dash-cam thread), I won't have to punch anything through the firewall. That is, until I figure out WTH I'm going to do about a CB.

How was the install? Appeared the instructions posted here were pretty decent and detailed. Encounter any issues?

I want a TIM!! Phil sent me a cable but it’s coming by pony express.

The instructions are great. The headliner work is a bit fiddly but you only need to get it down a couple inches. The connector is right at the corner. I had to cut the body rivet holding the CAM terminator as I couldn’t get leverage to pull it loose. Also be careful on removing the screw on the side panel. It is not retained. I dropped it trying to reinstall. Had to remove the panel again and dig it out. Otherwise did it in about an hour with no major hiccups. Put it back up no problem, collected a little fiberglass in my arm but you would never know it had been dropped.

AlphaOBD work this weekend. If anyone has any gotchas on that let me know.

I ended up starting on mine today and my arms are shredded (in a bad way) from that headliner. I can't get it down far enough to get my hand in there to secure the TIM to the roof. I even pulled a bunch more stuff off the whole passenger side to fish my dash camera rear cam cable back to front. It starts to bend near the coat hanger hole. Can't seem to pull it away form the back window frame. I even took the coat hanger off the driver I'll have to go back and look at some of these photos.

Why the hell they put a philips in there instead of a torx like everywhere else? Jeebus.

@Phil T How in the sam hell did you get that liner pulled down so far without breaking it?

I Had a feeling the headliner part would be a bear

I found that pushing up on the headliner made it much easier to come out - I think the edge sits inside a lip, so I pushed up with my right hand , then used my left hand on the exposed edge to pull forward and then down, and it came right down. Did that three times and it was loose all the way to the hanger in the driver side. Megacab though, maybe the extra material made it easier to work with.

Magnetic tip screwdriver saved me on those Phillips screws, I would have dropped one for sure.

Any videos on removing the liner. I’m still trying to picture all of this.

This is the same message I got before I went into the Stereo Settings to config/Set Up the trailer hooked to the bumper.
Remember I had to have my Engine Running and Trailer Pig Tail hooked to Truck to set mine up.
