With the growing theff of pickup truck what is everyone doing to try and stop or slow down the theff of their trucks? I have started using the Club accross the steering wheel and relocated the OB2 port to make it harder to plug in the computer to make a key fob .I keep my key fob in a Faraday box in the house .

I usually have that mindset but right now, even if I got full MSRP for my truck, it would likely still cost me 5-7k more to replace it. I also have zero percent financing on the balance and would not likely be able to replace that. I'm not really worried about theft but kinda concerned if some knot head decides to crash into me.

Moving the OBD port doesn’t matter, since it’s secured by the gateway and they don’t use it anyway to program fobs. They go straight to the bus behind the headlight switch. I have a simple cheap solution that I use and have done for others, but won’t post on open forums. You can PM me for details.
 
Sorry to be pedantic, but I think the word you’re looking for is “theft”.

I understand your concern, but the club is just a device to help a thief break a steering column lock. They also take about 3 seconds to remove. Also, as mentioned above moving the diagnostic port doesn’t accomplish anything as they can just plug right into the CAN bus blocks. The best protection against theft is good insurance and luck.

Sorry, but that's all 'feel good' options... which offer zero deterrence.
Someone who wants the truck is gonna steal it.. keep expensive stuff out of it and maintain your insurance.
 
Is there something they are doing to disable the telemetry tracking? Can Ram not help recover it with a police request?

I second the Ravelco, living in deep south Texas, it is the only anti-theft device
that gives me peace of mind. Have used it in my past trucks as well.
 
A remote disconnect starter or fuel pump relay would allow a remote start. I know there are inexpensive products for older vehicles out there for that, but don't know if there are ones for these trucks.
 
The Ravelco would never be a consideration for me. For one I use remote start a lot, but secondly, there's no way in hell I'm letting some company cut and splice random wires in my truck that will be impossible to trace down and troubleshoot in the future if something goes wrong.
 
Hopefully duallies are less attractive than SRW trucks. I used the Club, a brake pedal lock and will be adding a disabling device this week just in case my "dually" theory is wrong. Since we full time in the fifth wheel which requires a dually, some lowlife stealing my truck would be disaster.
 
I googled up a couple similar to what I was thinking of. You just remove your start, fuel, or whatever relay and plug in one that is controlled by a key fob for turning it on or off. No wiring involved. I doubt the range is very good on it. I would sure want to keep the original relay hidden in the truck somewhere just in case it failed while out somewhere and needed to be put back in.
