The Banks differential cover may be available for 2019+ Ram trucks "late this year."

I asked Banks Power when they anticipate the Banks differential cover for the 2019 Ram 3500 with the 12" (AAM) rear end.

Banks replied, "The plan for the Diff cover would be late this year."

Yeah, I the only after market diff cover for 2019+ 2500/3500 I can find to date is PML. Hopefully others show up soon. I might look into the Banks, but I’m not too excited about that extra metal on the bottom corners and off road clearance (just my preference, I know they break away).

If you buy a HD to off road in might as well swap drivetrains and suspension anyways

I don't wheel, but do hunt and it's possible to drag a little on some things sometimes, even on fire roads and then there's the snow...

Sorry, but the scoops just seem dumb to me. If they're needed to perform the cooling, it's pointless. If it's marginal and they offered one without that did cool somewhere in between stock on the scoopy mc scoop scoop, I might consider it.

I saw these were made in China.
I was interested until that. :/

Seriously disappointed if that’s the case. Given the price I was expecting it to be made domestically or at least North America. Sad.

Don't know if they make covers for the new 12" AAM, but Mag-Hytec is Made In USA, AFAIK. No goofy scoops either.

Please watch the video in my original post before you buy the Mag. Banks does an engineering analysis of the competition.

I agree the scoops look a little goofy, but they are explain the video.

I would be surprised if it is made outside the USA.

I sent an email to the sales team asking where it is made, and I will update the thread when they answer.

Last I checked they don’t have one for the new 12” yet. I will probably go with one of theirs when they do. Or maybe the PML.

Honestly, I don't intend to buy anybody's cover. I am not a Banks fan. His infomercials make a lot of claims, but he never proves the flat covers don't work. RVers and hotshotters have put zillions of miles on MH and PML covers, and I have never seen or heard of a lube related failure due to what he insinuates. Too much PT Barnum for me, sorry.

I definitely agree that Mr. Banks gives off a strong PT Barnum vibe. I have watched about 20 hours of his videos, and I have come to the conclusion he's just an awkward engineer who is very passionate about his data-driven approach to engineering.

His infomercials make a lot of claims, but he never proves the flat covers don't work.

Here a link to the relevant section of the video where they compare the fluid dynamics inside the MH to the stock cover. The inside of the housing needs to be curved to follow the ring gear so the oil will flow over the top and out to the bearings without causing aeration which reduces lubrication and causes the oil to heat up. The flat-back covers splash the oil against a flat surface, so the oil doesn't go over the top of the gear. The oil gets aerated which reduces its lubricating capabilities and it heats up.

I get what you are saying though. It is difficult to believe in the product if you don't trust the salesman because he's got a strong PT Barnum vibe.

Did you ever hear back?
I have not. I even called early last week and was told "would have to get back to me" and nada. I unfortunately think the silence is telling. :(

They show how the scoops will break away if hit. So, that part becomes useless, they should have made them replaceable.

You ever notice how companies complete studies and their product always finishes on top of the list.... amazing part in some industries they all do studies/research...blah blah blah and all have best product according to THEIR study. Its a diff cover, who cares very few people need to improve it. Banks has always seemed big on hype and average on performance to my limited experiances with them.

Banks could sell sand to an Arab while claiming it is the best sand ever..........still just sand.

Interesting hearing all the negative comments about Banks. I agree that Gale does seem like a bit of a goofy engineer and he def drinks his own kool-aid but he seems to present some rather solid data in a lot of the videos I've seen. Does anyone have data that refutes the claims made in his diff cover video, or any video for that matter?

Also, the whole "x number of hotshots have been running this to no ill effect" and the like comments don't hold much water to me. Most people don't even remember to change their oil in a timely manner and they still last a long time, tires that are well past change date, etc. I don't know that this diff cover is going to provide much value, but to be honest I don't think I've ever found myself wanting anything beyond the stock cover anyway, outside of fill/drain holes anyway. Most diff covers are just truck bling.
