Window tint %

Here's my '20 Power Wagon with F1 Pinnacle on all the windows except the front windshield. 25% on the front 2, 50% on the rear, back and sun roof. Using a lighter tint on the factory tinted rear blends the tint to match the fronts pretty well and I can still see out at night.

Your truck looks great !! I went with pinnacle too, not sure on the percentage I asked them to match the rear. I‘ve done it on every one I’ve owned. It makes a huge difference in the appearance of the truck ...as you know since yours stands out In a crowd. Thanks for sharing

No worries, those are 35x12.50r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the stock Power Wagon black wheels with DPAccessories black lug nuts (DPA part # LCB3D8HEOBK04032 - here https://www.drivenproducts.com/prod...allenger-ram-1500-2500?variant=17381767118905 or https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JNL65NI/ the Amazon fitment guide is incorrect, I confirmed with DPA that they fit before I ordered them and my dealership tire tech was impressed with the quality when he swapped them on. No visible scuffs from the torque gun either!)

Tinting is next on my list. Believe it or not, FL isn't that great with allowing a darker tint on the front windows (no < 28% VLT). Don't understand that given how freaking hot that sun gets coming through the windows. Yet the FL cop cars are way less than 28%. I know, shocking.

So I guess, even though they dont look like there tinted, the fronts are slightly tinted, so I'm assuming that if you put 24% on the fronts to match the rears then in turn they would be darker. So question being what do i need to put on the front slightly tinted to match rears

IMO, the fronts will never match at every angle. At the same %, all the light coming through the windshield will make it appear lighter. I put Llumar Ceramic 30% and its a single shade lighter than factory rear windows.

I'm hesitant to put 20% on the fronts as my tint guy is suggesting for fear of losing some nighttime definition.

Is that Llumar Ceramic also an IR tint? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to tint stuff. We get a ****-ton of UV here at 6000' and avg 300 days/year of partial or full sun.

I have no trouble seeing out of any of my windows at night.

Pinnacle is the step up from Llumar Ceramic (CTX), better warranty, better scratch resistance and (to me) a slightly better color tone. Their CTX is still good stuff though.

Thanks for all the good info, everybody. I just want it to match as close as possible, knowing I can't change the exterior lighting entering through that massive windshield. My eyes are not what they used to be so I can't go with what back in the day we called limo tint. I just want to get the front and back close without going any darker than the rear tint. Never could stand the super black out or the way it comes from factory with limited tint in front.

The only real difference is that Stratos has a little more heat reduction than Pinnacle. In the upper mid-west, I didn't think the extra cost was worth it. If I was back in AZ, I'd probably have gone with Stratos. They're both neutral black tone and wear much better than the ugly sepia colored 3M Crystaline.

I put 20% on the fronts of my1500. They match the rears very well and nighttime is no problem.
I can really tell the difference on a brightr day when I roll down my front window, it's like taking dark glasses off.
