I moved up to a large fifth-wheel RV and needed a better tow vehicle. After months of research, I decided the 2022 Ram 3500 Laramie w/6.7 HO was the best choice. I've had it for a year now with just shy of 14K miles, and absolutely love everything about it. This has been the best vehicle purchase for me. Services are a painful subject, but I know you have to pay to play.

Congrats.

Do your own services. You are almost guaranteed to get better work, and can choose better fluids/filter too. Plus it’s a lot cheaper.

Congrats. I'll assume your painful comment revolves mostly around filters, mainly fuel filters. As a decades long GM guy, I can attest to the poor performance of the Duramax fuel filter, and believe me, my experience was very painful. Part of the reason I moved over to Ram was their use of proper fuel filtration. So no, the Ram filters aren't cheap, but they're easily the best fuel filters going on a diesel pickup. And they're still way cheaper than a new fuel system. These new high pressure common rail systems are fairly delicate and very expensive making filters more important than ever. So just grin and change 'em!

Yup, I have to admit my 21, while it has a few quirks, it the best tow vehicle I have owned. Quiet and comfortable it tows my 22k fifth wheel with ease. Previously I towed with a 2003 dually diesel which I bought new. While the 2003 was state of the art at the time, the 2021 is much more refined. However all that refinement comes with dozens of computers which scare the hell out of me. I can imagine that these trucks will be a nightmare to diagnose and fix in ten years, especially. in the rust belt. Be interesting how the EV's fare up there after ten or fifteen years. I do my own scheduled maintenance. As a licensed mechanic in a previous life, it is something I enjoy doing, I know it was done right and it saves me a ton of money. Enjoy your truck and trailer.

Your complaint reminds me of this video. Maybe the same problem? I don't know this guy, I just watch the videos. Hope it helps.

Welcome. I'm sure you'll find all the information here you need.
As for cost of maintenance, you can certainly save a pretty penny doing it yourself. Take a look around, there's plenty of sources for OEM and aftermarket filters.
