For those who paid in cash for their HD - how long did it take to receive the title?

Bought mine from MD but haven't received the title as of today. Just curious how long it takes for the typical cash customer to receive it.

In New York it takes about 3 weeks to a month. I guess it would all depend on how fast the dmv gets the info and puts it into their system.

I can't see it making any difference time wise whether it was financed or a cash transaction. The only difference is that one has lien holder info.

Depends on the State and what you did, I suspect. I bought the vehicle in Nebraska. Paid cash and received the manufacturer’s certificate. Took that to motor vehicle department in NM and was handed title and registration. In NM plate follows owner, not vehicle and plate was from 1500 that I had sold.

If you let MD handle paperwork, you might want to follow up and see where things stand.

Appreciate that information - NC might be similar, I'll call my "DMV" here and see what they say.

I traded in a paid off 2019 2500 at MD and paid the difference on the 2022 3500 before driving down and received the FCA Certificate Of Origin For A Vehicle the day of trade in. Took that to DMV in Wisconsin and was handed new title and registration.

Here in Florida, the title is digital in DMV computer. I'm thinking about going down and paying for a hard copy

I bought mine in a bordering state and got a title from my state in the mail in just under 3 weeks.

I bought my truck in Ohio but its registered in Virginia. The Ohio dealer would not title my truck so I mailed all of my paperwork from the dealer with application for registration and title to VA DMV. I had the title in about 3 weeks if I remember correctly. Each state will be different in how the process works. Check your state DMV site, they should have specific instructions on how to title a vehicle. If you are mailing it in be sure to double check all of your fees and taxes, if your math is wrong they will mail everything back to you.
