I feel like the number of us with broken/ orders in C status or D status that arent being built should track their orders so we can get up to date info of what needs to be fixed or not.

It's also a good guess in general - the tow mode camera (XH7) has a new design with a repeater for 2023, so it's a new part number and probably short on supply..

Another person's rep said the camera isn't being released for 2023 anymore and will be a 24 option. Another reason to have this thread lol. Keep track of all the bad gossip

The stellantis corporate rep told my dealership mine and 650 other vehicles are stuck in the error state because of that part.
Well, if I was to order a truck, and that’s the general intel on the wired tow mode camera, there’s really only two options:
1) Buying a new truck hinges on that wired tow mode camera. If it can’t be built to include that camera kit, then I’m not getting this new truck at all, therefore, I’ll leave the order as is, and if it doesn’t become available this year, I’ll try again next year.
2) Modify the order now to remove the tow mode camera option, and get the ball rolling so they’ll build the thing.
The 2023 parts list shows they are using the same 2022 digital rear view mirror part numbers. The only digital mirror that is grayed out and removed from the parts list is the 3.0 mirror that uses the side mirror cameras split view.
That means that the 2022 wired tow mode camera will work on the regular digital rear view mirrors that are in the 2023 trucks, and that kit is readily available to buy after the fact.

Can't update the order. Apparently some system issue that isn't allowing the reps to make changes to orders with that part on it. Have to wait "a few weeks" for some fix from corporate.

Great info as always, Jimmy.

I towed with my new 22 for the first time yesterday. I got the factory wired tow mode camera and installed it in my trailer a couple of months ago. What a nice feature! Takes some getting used to as far remembering to use the rearview mirror. Came in handy for backing into my camping spot too, no worries about unseen trees, etc.

I am pretty sure I have a broken order too. Ordered 9/26 and confirmed on 9/27, 3500, Laramie 2 trim. I think the issue is the Laramie 2 trim. I've asked the dealer numerous times and just got the, order is fine, be patient, don't trust the forum's response. I don't have access to computer right now, so I can't do the format you have @pr3dict for this. Sorry. I'm in the same boat as you @MisplacedAlaskan, I got tired of the lack of communication from my dealer and cancelled my order. I ordered through another dealer, upgraded to a Limited, Megacab, HO, and dually. Was super excited until the news about limited being pushed till 3/1.

When I let the first salesman I was working with know that I was canceling my order because of their inability to get answers from Ram, he didn’t care at all. I almost wonder if they like it when the order gets canceled because they will eventually fix the issues with the order, receive the truck, and likely sell it to someone off the lot for more than they were going to sell it to me for.

Yeah my dealer actually wants to cancel my order so they can wash their hands of this issue and go back to order taking.

Value of dealerships unfortunately are non existent for consumers in our modern society.

I look forward to the day when I can place a vehicle order on a web form and it gets delivered to my house.

That would be pretty sweet. Count me in

When I started my purchase in Oct., my first dealer said $500 below MSRP was a great deal and valued my trade-in at $5,000. Last week when I was getting my current truck serviced, a rep cornered me and said they would love to buy my truck. During our conversation, I told him they lost my sale because I got a way better deal in Iowa. He came back a few minutes with the sorry excuse of "... well you do have high mileage, and we would send it to auction. so the best we can do is $3,000". He also said we've got '23 2500's in stock and will be getting some later in the week. Both were lies, because I asked to see what they had. He disappeared and I never saw him again.

I don't think a lot of dealers/dealership groups understand today's markets. They seem to still believe that they can order inventory at will and continue to sell at close to MSRP. They continue to act like the old stereotype of "used car salesmen". I believe dealerships like Granger, MD, and others have found a niche and are perfecting their model. By exploiting online tools and purchasing, they can control their costs. By selling in volume, I believe not only is it easier to sell in volume, but it helps solidify their sold numbers. While we may not understand the "fuzzy math" of allocations, Stellantis seems to want to avoid excess unsold units. I can't explain the shipping nor supply chain issues, but I think Ford and GM have similar issues.
