Big Horn vs Laramie for 2023 Order

The
I’ve never used the side cameras on mine. I do use the 360 parking camera tho. My biggest gripe is when you get close to an object in front of the truck, I’d love for the camera to pop on. Hate having to manually engage it.

Camera automatically engages in the Escalade and Mercedes.

The side cameras are used for the 360° camera, can't have one without the other.

It would be nice if it was automatic.

Ya I understand what your saying but you can individually use the side camera and adjust the viewing angle via the 12 inch screen.

If u want leather go Laramie. The main difference.
Laramaie gets leather trimmed seats, not all leather. Looks like all leather though, and they are comfortable. I traded a loaded 18 2500 Laramie on my 22 Limited Longhorn 2500, and the seats are nice in both trucks.
Buy a wireless camera for the back of your camper. We have one and it comes with its own screen, which is great bc you can leave it on while driving which is great.
The factory camera I mentioned above is always on while driving also. Screen is your rearview mirror.
Also, with sport edition be prepared for rock chips on the front. I would get 3M clear wrap installed. I camp a lot so I went w chrome bumpers.
Same. We've owned a few vehicles with painted bumpers or painted plastic wrapped bumpers. They all turn ugly over time. I did the 3M thing on one, but even that gets permanently fouled by bugs over time. Called my buddy who owns a body shop and visited with him about it also. He said it would be about $2k to fix one that dinged up from rock chips, etc. He said "If it were me, I'd get the chrome.". I went chrome on my new truck.

I recall reading somewhere that the 23s will automatically switch on the relevant video feed when an object is detected. I also saw that it will come up when you activate a turn signal.

It's hard for me to believe that is very useful. If I put on a signal to make a lane change or go around the corner, I'm looking that direction, not down at the screen. Taking my eyes off the road to check the screen while making a turn would not add to safety, IMO. Just another feature I would turn off.

I ended up ordering a 2023 F-350 Ultimate Package, however I am skeptical about receiving it in time for camping season and I put an out clause in my contract so I may swing back to a new or used Ram 3500 since I prefer it to the pre-refresh Fords.

If you prefer the Ram why didn't you order one?

All these features help add cost to the consumers price and are essential for lazy Americans who need the best of the best. More features please me me me I deserve it along with a trophy. Sad what my generation has created in this country.

I know right? All these fancy cars with their electronic starters and automatic choke! All you need is a big crank on the front of the engine and a lever to adjust the air/fuel ratio!

We are not talking 1939...

You don't need 4 camera, connectivity to text you when you need an oil change, give me a break.

Of course you don't *need* 4 cameras, but it sure does make parking in tight spaces and self-spotting off road easier. I also don't need connectivity to text me when I need an oil change, but having that same connectivity to remote start my truck while I'm waiting for my bag to come out at the airport and it's snowing outside sure is nice, and If I managed a fleet of trucks it would be nice to know when one needs an oil change (it's the same system). I (and everyone else) don't need any of the luxury or convenience features of any vehicle, but we're not buying those features because we need them, we're buying them because we want them. Just because you don't want something doesn't make it bad. If you want to buy a stripped out vinyl floored vinyl seated Tradesman you can do that, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with not wanting a uhaul-spec truck.
