Interesting. I expected more people to order the mega cab.

Interesting response about being D1, shutting down for two weeks, and being in the next group.
When did you go D-1?
I wonder how they assign groups and when they start production of those groups.
I’ve been D-1 since 11/29, but was told by my dealer that my (estimated) ship date is 12/13. Personally, I was thinking 40-45 days.
I’m just trying to better understand the process.
What have others experienced and/or think?
Thanks

Honestly that dealer is filling him w smoke and mirrors. No one knows the order the trucks are sent down the line. Only a few factors are will come into play, current paint orders and it looks like certain trims are being held up due to chip shortages (digital dash and sunroofs). On a side note, looks like blind spot monitoring is back for the Laramie. This was removed last model year due to shortages.

I stayed with the BH mainly because of the $$. I’m also a little leary about all of the electronics and availability of repair parts/components. I’m not even going to address the crap shoots around the options and packages.
When I first ordered, I was quoted 6-9 months, so I’ve resigned myself to that. For me that means April to July delivery. I’d love to get a new truck sooner, but this allows me to set aside a bigger down payment.
Any earlier delivery date is a bonus…

Trying to get my head around timing of a new truck, along with a dose of reality
Bought a new 5th wheel in the fall, my 1500 will not pull it so I have to have a new truck before I can use my new camper.
I ordered my 3500 Limited on 10/20/22
When you look at the spreadsheet vs VIN #’s, the spreadsheet is at ≈75 trucks, but looking at VIN #’s they are well over 35,000 so our little view into the world of RAM is only .2% of the trucks on order
Looking through the 22 forum, there are a number of people on the 2022 list whose trucks were built end of August, still sitting in Mexico as of beginning of December waiting for a ride.

So my mental exercise came up with the following:
Last year they built around 320,000 HD trucks based upon VIN numbers that I can find.
They build ≈ 5,000 trucks per week
I am VIN 25000 so I won’t get built for 5 weeks approx. (I know they don’t go in order), so maybe mid-January at best since according to tracker I am only at accepted stage.
Bed liner and 5th wheel prep, my truck goes off site then back for inspection, maybe 30 days based upon 22’s so mid-February at best
Truck spending spring break in Mexico with the college students and ride north 8-12 weeks, so mid-April to Mid-May at best
I am assuming the shipping delays they saw in 22 will be repeated in 23, since nothing else has changed

Have been wanting a Cummins diesel for years, now I order one, but can I even get one.

I ordered a 3500 Limited on 9/22. Hurry up and wait.

All of the posts in this thread now are guys wanting the truck they ordered RIGHT NOW. I get it, however, we all just need to be patient.

These trucks are being made, it isnt a 3D printer that makes them, its humans. The Wizard, aka @brv10 is already a huuuuge benefit for us.

Be patient, dont overwhelm The Wizard and enjoy Christmas.

My truck has been in production for 9 days...... something is not right.
If your truck had any of the aftermarket options, spray in bed liner, side steps, 5th wheel prep, etc, it goes to an offsite vendor to have that completed and the timing around that is up in the air. On the tracker you truck won't be listed as built until all options have been installed and final inspection is completed.

I’m kinda on the same boat thing here is I’m driving a sedan thru the winter based on what it currently looks like and that wasn’t part of my plan

Wonder if there is a single 23 that shows built on the ram tracker. Mine has been showing in production since the 3rd. Honestly doesn't bother me as I won't be in country to receive it anyway. Just a curiosity. I do wish my tracker showed my truck instead of some random one though.
