Anyone with adaptive cruise get a surge 1 mph above set speed?
FL is flat, so it happens with me every 30-60sec.

Trying to find out if there is a TSB and/or flash fix for the DASM as I will be getting a used MicroPod II registered soon…

EDIT: DASM update fixed issue! See post #9

2019 and has done it since day one..
ACC and regular CC, makes no difference, just constantly surging and slowing.

No code so dealer was useless...
No TSB or fix that I am aware of so I don't use them at all.

I never noticed cruise in my GMC, Chevrolet, or GM cars..it just worked. This is not my first FCA vehicle, but our 300C SRT8 does not hunt for a cruise speed like my 2500. It will vary 2+ up or down and hunts for the setting the whole way.
I also wonder if it is actually applying the brakes (with brake lights) going down a hill when the thing refuses to coast when I am NOT in Tow/Haul down hills. I would only expect grade braking in Tow/Haul....especially in my Hemi.

Ive seen the brake lights come on going down a hill with my 22 not in tow haul when in ACC

Adaptive cruise in all vehicles uses the brakes to hold speed. It would be nice if they'd downshift first instead, but as far as I know no manufacturer does that.

Do you know if the regular cruise does the same?

Going to update here.

My DASM (Cruise Control module on windshield) was on original software. A DASM update fixed this cruise only surging issue. Additionally, the cruise control is MUCH smoother than before.

DASM was updated from 56029827AF to 56029827AH.

To get this flash at a dealer, you need them to perform a TSB. TSB 08-149-21 is the most recent. If they want a reason, tell them the Forward Collision Warning "BRAKE" randomly pops up sometimes.

If this does indeed fix the surging then that would fantastic!
I've been unable to tolerate using either the CC or the ACC for the last 3 yrs because of the surging!

I’ll be looking while I'm driving for the next few days to be sure, but before, the truck would repeatedly accelerate aggressively 1mph over set speed. I could actually see it on the tuner as the mg/stroke (fuel rate) would climb suddenly every 30 seconds or so. You can also see the instant MPG swinging up and down as a result of the fuel rate change.

The flash is large (38MB) for a module flash and took 50 minutes to write. Took it on the freeway afterwards was unable to see any surging.

Also, before the cruise would aggressively accelerate to set speed and let off hard to maintain it. Now it’s a gentle acceleration if it’s within 5 mph of set speed.

Yeah, please post back up what you experience.
And yes, I've had the same experience... you can feel the constant slowing down/speeding up which you could see flicker on the speedo... never thought of looking at he mpg gauge gauge.

I abandoned ACC after the first time I used it for all the reasons you mentioned above. Regular CC works fine but the ACC is just way too agressive, especially when accelerating back to set speed after passing a slower vehicle. Thanks for posting this fix

That's funny, I find ACC acceleration to be too slow after passing.

Mine (2022) works as intended, smooth acceleration. Sometimes stays 1mph below setpoint for a while, but that's not really important.

What I noticed, however, is that if you are behind a vehicle on ACC and hit the indicator/blinker to pass, as soon as you do that the truck starts accelerating and closes the gap. Do yours do that, too?

After the update, that’s how mine is driving now. Really smooth.

Also, I noticed it doesn’t brake hard anymore if someone is slowing in front. I slows down smoothly now.

This is by design.

Can confirm after driving more today that this flash fixed my surge with cruise.

@Gondul
Have the dealer flash yours. Don’t mention the surge, just use the TSB as the reason.

Oh, absolutely... while I've had a good relationship with the Service Advisor, I'm certainly not given them a reason to *not* do it!

@CTF2019 holy crap... your suggestion was absolutely ace!!
Had the TSB done earlier this week... just drove down to Miami and both CC and ACC held speed with ZERO surging.
Braking and acceleration are still a bit aggressive for my liking, but easily enough to work around.
