2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

There was a defect. If it was a Cummins engine, there was a period between June/July to the beginning "ish" of August that the ECM had a defect of a capacitor or something that was inserted incorrectly and they issued a nationwide recall on this. So they fixed what they could at the factory and the others that got delivered now have to get with the dealers to have it fixed. When the ECM fails, it causes the truck to lose power.
Ours was built July 19th and still hasn't shipped, but we ordered a Hemi . . .

That would make sense why trucks built earlier in the year still haven't shipped. They are probably being worked on one by one to replace the ECM. Mine was built on Sept 1st so hopefully it missed those issues. So they barely have enough chips to make the EC and now thousands of them have to be scrapped/reworked because they missed the "+" and "-" on a capacitor. All of these problems and delays in the world started from some guy eating a bad bat in China.... he gets the greatest butterfly effect award.

Not sure if that's the whole thing, mine is a hemi built 8/17 and shipping date still tbd

I can't believe what I just saw. I took a screen shot Monday morning of the online tracker and it showed "Shipped Nov. 6th 2022". Just now I checked it again and now it's showing "Shipped Nov. 9th 2022". Did the train backup, unload and ship out again? This online tracker is bogus and I no longer put any faith it in whatsoever. The estimate delivery date might as well say "Someday"

I think there are two stages. One it gets put on the train and another when the train actually leaves. Keep in mind some of us ordered the end of Feb and jsut got our trucks last week. So a 3-6 month wait really isnt anything. For those with trucks at shipping yards, you can have your dealer call and have it Hot Tagged. I threatened to cancel the order and it showed up a couple days later. Form what I hear a 10-14 day wait before it gets to the dealer is normal.

Mine has been sitting since end of September, this is so frustrating, seems pickup and delivery would be a simple process. My Dealer Mark Dodge did say Ram was using alternative delivery modes that aren’t as easy to track and some trucks have showed up at Dealer still showing TBD .
Mine did. it never showed shipped. matter of fact its status did not change until the day after I took it home. The tracker is off. Also seems the 3500 and 3500 Duallys are the slowest to ship, I guess due to size. If it had not been for BRV10 I would have not know the status. He can get you the rail card number once it ships and you can track it the whole way.

I'm setting at 6 1/2 months right now. Will be at least 7 months before I take delivery assuming I don't jump ship before the end of the year. I don't mind waiting on a realistic date, I just don't want to see multiple delivery dates being pushed back.

I can't keep from thinking RAM detected some defect in these new trucks and decided to fix them at the factory instead of shipping them out and then dealing with the recalls. I've heard others say they can't ship because the railroad wants more money. The delays could be from a combination of these two things or a number of other factors, but who knows, since RAM seems to be very poor at communicating with the customer with any meaningful information. I imagine there are several thousand trucks setting at the factory and this equates to hundreds of millions of dollars. That is a very large sum of money tied up because they aren't sold to the customer yet. Mine has been built since Sept. 2nd. Yes, I'm pissed because it's taken so much longer than the original estimate delivery of August 16th, but I truly believe RAM is doing everything in their power to get these trucks across the border. This whole experience has soured the excitement of first time RAM owner and first time special ordering a truck. My 11 year old Tundra is still going strong so I just hope this new RAM last that long.

My truck was ordered on April 25th with 2 missed delivery dates so far. As of early this week it now shows "shipped" with estimate delivery of Dec 2nd, but at this point, who knows how much faith to put into those dates.
I remember balking to myself when i found out these trucks were built in Mexico... Im sure they are built quality like and all but with what we are going through now?
I believe that if the plant was in America maybe we would be better off....
I see these 3500s advertising at local dealers and alot say in transit next to the adjusted market price...
I wonder if the customer has to wait for their truck as well like us? The incentives on these year old brand new trucks should make up for our waiting dont you guys think?

I don't think it would matter if they were built here, Ford stopped production and GM's lots a very full at the 3 plants by me.

By all industry accounts the quality in MX is better than the trucks built in the US. Just ask Ford and GM owners. I can tell you RAM 100% compensated me with back end freebies. They (RAM customer service) gave me a free 7 year 100k mile 0 deducible bunper to bumper warranty. Mopar, not that crap warranty. I also was given 2 Oil contracts. one for 2 free oil changes and another for 8. Thats about 9k in free stuff for waiting 8 months on a truck. I know its frustrating, but trains, customs, China, parts, and logistics all come into play. I'm very pleased I waited on this 22 and feel it is the best built of the big three. Just to add, its not going to get any better anytime soon. I would wait on it. There are plenty of dealers offering discounts under MSRP, dont buy form one that doesnt. Mark Dodge in LA and Jimmy Britt in GA are both under MSRP.

They used to be built in Fenton, MO not far from where I grew up before going to Mexico. My dad worked at Chrysler (parts division) and we got to tour that plant. Interesting watching diesel and V10 engines fly over your head why workers rode bikes to their spot. I think they made minivans there too.

Shutting that plant down was a big hit to that city.

Center of country would work well with shipping

Tire of everybody asking me when im getting my new truck as this chevy im driving now is about ready to die

True, but like mentioned before, doesn't mean higher quality. I've designed a couple factories in Mexico and the work force was well compensated for the area and they wanted to exceed expectations and maintain a great culture. Really enjoyed it down there.

I would imagine that FCA is making a lot more $ off each vehicle compared to Ford and GM just based on labor costs.

congrats, I know you have been waiting a hot minute. Call RAM customer service and ask for the warranty and oil change stuff for waiting so long.
Congratulations. I ordered first week of April and truck was built June 13 and nothing. I’ve emailed every email address I’ve found and crickets.
