Truck freaking out after car wash

My truck was freaking out after the car wash today.

I washed under the hood a bit, just spraying around the edges like I do on every one of my vehicles.

Leaving the bay, I thought it banged a gear shift or something hard, a block away the FCW and Lane Assist starting flashing warnings and freaking out. Watching the (crappy) video I took, it looks like traction control was also complaining.

I stopped to top off the fuel and after starting it up, it was making a chattering noise, erratic shifting while driving and the FCW and LA still freaking out. Drove the few blocks home and shot a video of under the hood. The Uconnect was not responding to all button presses as well. Shut it down and let it it sit for a few minutes. Went back out and started it up and everything seemed fine. Drove it around the neighborhood then ran up the highway using cruise, ACC and it's like it never happened.

Wand wash or touchless (drive thru)? I won't go near a touchless wash for a variety of reasons and that's one of em. They just have a nasty habit of pushing H2O into places where it don't need to be.

I wand washed it in a bay just like I've done my 04.5 CTD and 03 Audi for years and all others before that.

I did not even spray into the engine bay directly. A little H2O overspray shouldn't hurt anything under that hood.

I realize the 04.5 is less techy, but I've hosed down the engine, engine bay on that, just avoiding directed spray into alternator or electrical connections. Never a blip.

Ditto, I've wand washed (pressure washed too) under the hood for yrs without a problem. I'd be looking for elect connectors that are not secure.

I washed mine yesterday with my hot water pressure washer. I gave the engine a carful but decent shot to get the cat tracks off. I plan to start it today, will see if anything is wonky.

check the fuse box for water penetration and loose connections with the fuses and relays

Dealer tech (old guy) said hose er down...

He was thinking "clockspring" which is now an electronic steering module. Seems they may have an issue because there's 300 on backorder within FCA when he checked.

I'm still experimenting, but I think it may actually be the iDrive doohicky. It seemed fine again until I re-installed that (unplugged for dealer visit) and also started throwing electronic throttle errors.

Hope it’s not the idrive. I’ve got one too. Keep us posted on what they say or what you find out please.

I'm going to leave the iDrive unplugged for a while and will check back in a few days.

I may drop a note to iDrive US and see what they have to say.
