2023 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Ordered a '23 Limited CC SRW 8' box this afternoon from the local dealer. A bit more than the price I received from Granger, but after the expense of picking it up figured-in, it was within $1500. Will be replacing my similar 2016 Laramie. My 3rd RAM 3500 from the same dealer, so I think they wanted to keep my business.

Only question I am still sort of pondering is the wheel-to-wheel black fixed steps I ordered vs. the retractable board the Limited comes with. No charge change, and I like having a step to access the front of the bed. Also, the fixed boards seem less likely to have problems down the road. Opinions welcomed!

If you tend to have short passengers the power running boards are nice as they drop down much further than any of the fixed options. I did lots of off-roading with mine and had no issues, but I can definitely see the potential for them to be problematic.

Has anyone heard what is standard and what has changed on the 3500 Limited's? I ordered a 23 the first week my dealer was able to order. Sat down with them and was told rambox, spray in bedliner, and 12 inch screen are standard. Then a month later a friend of mine went to order a limited and wad told you have to get the limited level 1 equipment group to get those 3 options. If it comes in without any of those options I can keep my 22 longhorn but wanted to get into a limited.

I had the retractable running boards on my 2500. I liked the clearance they gave when retracted. The noise of them moving, was a little annoying but I adjusted to them over time. The motor on one failed at 22,000 miles. Which was replaced under warranty. I would say if you are going to have the truck in the dirt a lot, get the fixed option. The constant motion of back and forth if there is a lot of dirt in the gear area will cause you problems down the road. The other thing I did not like, was they are only connected to the truck in 2 places. So mine would flex a little when they were stood on. I wasn't a huge fan of that. I personally would go with a fixed running board in the future. Just my opinion. Congrats on the new truck!
Thanks! And thanks to Jeremy also. I think I made the right choice. I have tubular stainless fixed bars on my 2016, and with the snow and ice and salt around here, the powered ones just feel like asking for trouble down the road.

I will say once you get used to having boards, it's quite a surprise to hoist yourself up in a truck that doesn't have them. Had a loaner once without them, and it was disconcerting to have to change the way I got in the truck!

Rather than make a new thread I’ll ask here because y’all are smart and awesome.

Can I order a titan tank to MD where they’ll install the new tank for me before I show up to take delivery of new vehicle ?

From what I understand they will only install Mopar accessories and parts.

Weird since I’ve heard of people getting Carli suspension installed at dealers.

I could be misreading posts though.

Anyone with a new rebel order showing as a power wagon on the tracking site? I called RAM and they couldnt tell me if my order was correct or not, just the same info I see on the site. I am guessing its a glitch because my order config with dealer said power wagon/rebel assuming because its the same chassis.

If you got a Diesel it's not a PW, Rebel and PW don't share suspension.

Mine is doing the same. I assume it’s because they’re both DJ7X91 in the system. The only thing that differentiates them is the 2GP (Power Wagon) or 2GR (Rebel) QOP codes.

The order tracking site also doesn’t show an image for them yet. I’m guessing that when they actually update the site for 2023 that both items will be fixed.

Mine is showing crew cab when it should be mega cab, dealer swears it's a mega cab, so I hope they are right
