Hi all. Sorry for the click bait kind of thread name, but I don't know what else to call it. I have a 2021 Ram PW, I LOVE THIS TRUCK. That said the one issue I've had is that (Twice already) the battery was so drained it failed to start. The first time I think it was this past Jan or Feb, I tried to remote start and only got one beep and nothing. It was too low to start. Triple A came out and jumped it, I ran it for over an hour and everything was fine. Fast forward to today, same exact thing. But this time it was about 65 degress, so I didn't think the cold had anything to do with it. Both times the truck sat for three to four days (I'm working from home). The tech thinks there is something draining the battery, the alt and battery read fine once the truck is running. Has anyone had anything like this happen?

I wouldn't know how to do that. The only think I know of is a digital camera I have on. The first guy didn't think that would cause a drain, and since then I swapped in a newer camera, since the first one was old.

on my 2020 PW I had the battery and alternator both fail at the same time. not sure which caused which but both were replaced at the same time. it took the dealership 3 days to diagnosis it as they had to hook it up to their machine and it kept doing some weird stuff. they finally replaced both and all has been good since.

The digital camera/dash cam running constantly plugged in will drain it.
I have a cellphone booster and I made the mistake of leaving it plugged in for three or four days when I was out of town and it drained it. Both times were freezing temperatures and the second was 60+ degree weather.
Start unplugging it when you leave your truck for extended periods of time.

That's strange, my buddy has a 1500 with the same camera and has never had issues over the many years.

If your digital camera is plugged into the 12 volt source on top of the dash that could be the problem. From the factory it is hooked up to supply constant power and is not key activated. You can change this by moving the fuse in the fuse box for that outlet. If I recall it is input 90 or 91. You simple move the fuse in the slot to make the 12 volt outlet to switched power and not constant on.

Thats a 50/50 shot if its setup for batt or ign power from the factory my 19 was setup ignition some i have seen set up on battery from the factory

My 2022 power wagon fuse was in the always on setting from factory. My 2019 1500 also came in the always on position.

So this morning I got out and shifted the fuse over to the new position.... and it worked perfectly. I checked and rechecked and the dashtop 12v outlet is now off when the engine is off. Thanks all for the help on this. Hopefully this issue has been solved.
