What does a Limited have over a similarly configured Laramie to justify the extra $5k?

You can't get a hemi in a Limited.
Unreal - glad I ordered a 22. Must be using this as a means to limit some of the more spec'd out trucks so they don't have to keep dropping standard features or upgrades on the Limited models?

My '21 I bought used this summer is a Laramie Night Edition, with a bunch of options. I had looked at/driven a few limited's prior to finding this one. Though a Laramie it has adaptive cruise/collision features, power running boards, lane assist, etc. It has the 8.4 screen and no center console, can seat 3 across the front if you put up the center armrest. I forget which headlights I have. So from a feature standpoint, was just what I was looking for in a limited but loved the Night Edition look and lower price tag of the Laramie.

My comment on the interior differences ... I find the Laramie perfectly comfortable, but no question that to me the limited seats were softer and more luxurious feeling than the relatively hard seats in the Laramie. Not enough to make me wish I had a limited, but noticeable. In terms of steering wheel and door trim etc. I couldn't care less, I think my Laramie interior looks great and is very well appointed. So for me the 5 grand wasn't worth it as long as I could get adaptive cruise in a Laramie.

I still wish they offered the bench seat and Hemi in a Limited . I would have gone that route. But instead, I ordered an optioned up Laramie and will get the AMP Research power running boards

My almost fully loaded Laramie build was 99,440 and I remember it being the same price for a very similarly optioned Limited. I would have ordered the Limited if it had the bench option. The bench was a must for those long road trip activities.

I wasn't looking for the bench, probably would have chosen the console given the choice since I have a bunch of stuff I keep with me and am used to consoles. But, now having used it for a few months, I'm sold on the bench. There is tons of storage with the clever double armrest storage and pop out dash tray, I find myself using the floor tunnel space between the seats at times, and the flexibility of seating a 6th passenger has been used once already.

Same on the 8.4 screen - I test drove and fiddled with a few of the 12" screens, don't feel like I'm missing anything and the quality of the 8.4 is really outstanding in terms of clarity and touch sensitivity.

I'm completely happy with this truck. And I'm impressed with the package Ram put together.

You can't get a hemi in a Limited.

Some of the above is from memory for 2022, so if anythign is incorrect, I welcome a fact check. ;-)
Are you sure no Hemi in the ‘23 Limited? When I got my 22 2500 limited Hemi this spring, I could only find one in stock in Canada. Nothing on the Ram Canada site for the 23 MY ordering yet so I can’t see if it’s changed here too.

It's been mentioned a in a few threads that they've eliminated the hemi on the higher trims because so few were ordered.

I did the same thing as you…..

I could go either way on the power running boards, but my wife really likes them so that means I really like them. :)

Per the Stellantis Media Press Kit for 2023 the 6.4 Hemi is listed as the standard engine in the 2500 and 3500. It makes no mention of any limitation based on trim. The only reason there are not more Limiteds with the Hemi is that dealers are trying to maximize profits by only ordering them with the Cummins. The big Hemi is a great alternative if you are towing 12k or less (especially with the 4.10 rear end). However dealers try to convince people otherwise.

As said earlier, it's been discussed in several threads, confirmed by several dealers including @zach@granger, and you simply cannot currently order a 2023 Limited or Longhorn with a Hemi.

Contrary to your assumption that it's some dealer conspiracy, RAM had less than 5% take rate on those trims ordered with the Hemi so they dropped it. Just like they dropped the manual. Just because something is listed in the media press kit, doesn't make it true. It *IS* the standard engine, it's just not available in a Longhorn or Limited.

The latest order guides don’t even list the Hemi with the Limited and Longhorn anymore.

I have to wonder if the low take rate on the Hemi is partially self-fulfilling. My dad wanted a Hemi truck and he had to go two states away to find one. I have two friends who had similar experiences when they were looking for Hemis. One went to Ford because it was the only way he could find a gas truck with any options on it. If dealers do t stock them then of course no one is going to buy them.

I really think the HO Hurricane inline 6 will be an option on the higher trims either late 2023 or 2024.

Is this new for 2023? I have a 2022 Limited Hemi MegaCab.

And that makes zero sense as it costs them absolutely nothing to offer it in a Limited or Longhorn. I guess we will see once the configurator comes online. What is your source for percentage numbers? I am not aware of any official source that provides a breakdown as quoted by you.

It doesn’t have to make sense to us, it’s in the order guides that way. The Hemi was available in the first two order guides for ‘23, and has been removed from them for Limited and Longhorn for the last two guides that have come out.

@zach@granger has not updated the Mega order guide since 9/15 that still shows the Hemi available in a '23 Limited/Longhorn Mega. Only the CC Hemi option was removed from that guide specifically.
Has anyone asked at the dealer to run through a Mega order? Do we believe that was just oversight and it hasn't been updated? And yes @H3LZSN1P3R , it has really gotten to me, again.

You may be right, and it's going to be really interesting when/if that engine becomes available in 2500's. I haven't seen any mpg numbers yet on it. The power output is impressive from what I've read so far. I do remain skeptical of a twin turbo engine like that doing the work of a 6.4 hemi without problems. I don't believe Ford has offered their Ecoboost engines in F250's yet.

I ordered a loaded Laramie in May, it has every option except fifth wheel and trailer tow cameras. It was north of 92k, I also wanted a limited but they did away with all the packages. But the Laramie had everything available and even one not listed on the ram site. The towing technology group which included surround view cameras. I was surprised ram would limit options on the limited and not on the lower Laramie. So I could have waited for the 23s but who knows what you can or can’t get when the order bank opens up. So here I am waiting for my Laramie 6 months now. The Laramie interior is very nice not a limited but it’s growing on me. I want to go back to 4 week truck orders but I believe that’s going to be a thing if the past. Get what you want while you can.
