Question about Exhaust Brake and Tow Haul Mode

I checked two trucks last night with trailers and both remembered the eb on when the pigtail was plugged in.
weird.

Is yours a 2019 or 2020? Are you plugging into the bed or the bumper connector?

With a trailer hooked, EB remembers last setting on mine. TH turns off. But unplug the seven way while the truck is running and you are dropping the trailer, the brake disconnected warning won’t shut up until you turn truck off and restart. A couple of trucks ago, when you were plugged in, the TH would stay active and the EB had to be reset each time restarted. I think that was on my 2012.

Ya, this is a nuisance. An operator should be able to defeat the warning without having to stop/start the truck.

Are you plugging into the bumper or the bed plug? I use the bed plug because its a 5th wheel, but I may do an experiment with the bumper plug while stationary in my driveway.

AFAIK, they are electrically the same, connected to the body wiring harness with a Y cable.

Well, there must be some electrical difference, because I just confirmed the truck does remember the EB setting when plugged into the bumper plug, but it doesn't remember the EB setting when plugged into the bed plug.

I like to use the bed plug with my 5th wheel, but I would consider using the bumper plug if that's an option. Has anyone plugged into the bumper plug using a 5th wheel?

I just towed a car hauler to Chicago and back this past weekend. I plugged into the bumper for the entire trip. As @thestuarts mentioned, it remembered the EB setting, but I had to turn on tow/haul each time I stopped and started the truck back up.

I was just saying to my wife today how annoying it was to have to toggle that EB button twice everytime I started her up. She told me to stop being a little bitch. Now I'm sad.
Ha Ha

Well today I confirmed that it remembers the EB setting while towing a GN with it plugged into the bed. Until it didn't.. LOL.. First two times I shut the truck off it remembered, the third time it didn't. I still think that there should be an option in the system for having Tow/Haul come on automatically when connected to a trailer.

My truck remembers with both plugs sometimes remembers the tow haul but always remembers the jake brake.... i would hate if my truck would Automatically turn tow haul on with the 7 pin as i use the 7 pin to plug aux lights in when not towing

My EB setting stuck with the trailer connected in the bed. TH did not stick.

(Yes, boat trailer front looks low as I hadn't engage Alt Trailer Height.) When engaged, it's all perfectly level.

My 2019 EB stays to whereever it was last set,,, Auto, Full, or off no matter if trailer is connected or not. Tow/Haul does have to be turned on after shut-down.

Chassis Cab right?

Makes one wonder if there's a setting that can be twerked.

Cab/Chassis is correct,,, My sons 2018 2500 P/U does not have the same memory though. His does not have the Aisin, not sure if that is related

I have an HO/Aisin PU and it doesn't remember the EB setting unless the trailer stays connected.

I wish we had the ability to do a couple things. I wish I could set the tow haul to be on every time I plugged in my trailer. I wish my EB would remain on unless I shut it off. I wish I could leave the cruise control on unless I shut it off.
