Mystery solved!

So my dealer gave me my VIN but I never got my VON to enter on the RAM tracking website. How do you go about getting your VON so you can track?

I ordered in 9-22 and the order number is almost 19,000 different than yours.

Does anyone here think it’s possible Ram is getting almost 5000 orders a day before the system is live online?
I had to cancel my original order that was done on September 19 due to an issue with the trailer view surround camera. My new order was done on September 27, and the order number difference is almost 445,000 difference. I can't imagine that all of those orders are specific to Ram.

When is the Build “start date” for all of these 2023 HDs ? Asking for a friend

Agreed. I wonder where all of us will be in line considering most will wait until they can order online.

Great question. There is another thread setup where people can enter their order info and a spreadsheet is generated. There is only a few people who have entered their info. So the more that do this the better we will have an idea of what's waiting.

Here is a link to that thread @OfficerDirtySanchez setup.

Done! It doesn't show my order having Night edition on that spreadsheet but that doesn't matter much.

Once they start production, you’ll find out that you don’t really have a “place in line” so to speak (as far as when your order was placed).
It looks like this year they may have started the VIN sequence number at ~500000 (@OfficerDirtySanchez can probably figure this out). So far, they’re at around sequence number 510000, which would mean ~10,000 HD Ram VINs issued. That’s a mix of customer orders and dealer allotment orders for their lots. By the time they actually start production, they could very well be 40,000 trucks deep.
They don’t build the trucks in order, either. You’ll probably see things like someone that ordered 2 months after you might receive their truck in 8 weeks, whereas you might receive yours in 6 months. It doesn’t matter what timeframe the dealer, or anyone else gives you, there’s no rhyme or reason evident to us as to how they are sequenced to be built except for the people at the plant doing the scheduling. Members will try to find a pattern, and just when they think they have it nailed down to some option, color, etc, a few will come along that have their truck built that will break those theories.
Probably the best advice I could tell anybody that orders a truck in these times- don’t make any plans where the ordered truck is an absolute necessity in the next 8 months. Because you’ll see a lot of posts like, “the dealer told me 12 weeks, and it’s been 4 months and now I have to cancel our camping trip”.

So if they start production in November, when do you think the first ones will roll onto the dealer lots?

No clue. Couldn’t even guess because transport is so unpredictable right now. Once they’re unloaded from rail cars at hubs, they still need to be taken by transport truck to the dealers, and there’s a severe shortage of transport truck drivers. So much so, that Stellantis is asking any employees if they want to take a leave of absence to get their CDL and transport for Cassen.

So what I have been told is that they build by color. So if on Nov 1 they start with Black, they will build Black trucks but only the ones that they have all the parts for. For example, if you ordered a Black truck with a sunroof and there are no sunroofs available, your truck won’t get built and it will have to wait until the next time they spray Black, and if at that time they don’t have sunroofs you go back in the paint cycle again until they have all the parts to build your truck.
I am told they do it this way due to the high cost of purging the spray nozels and setting up for a different color. So having one option on your build that is not available could delay your build significantly. When the sunroofs come in they will start to build your truck but you will have to wait until the next paint cycle. BTW I am only using sunroofs as an example.
