I've had my truck for about a month now and finally got my trailer cameras hooked up last weekend while we were camping. I plugged them up to the truck and nothing happened. I didn't have time to figure anything out so I just pouted a bunch and towed it home. I didn't even think about checking the connection in the bed. I checked that yesterday and it worked. Yay! Looking in the owners manual I saw it's one or the other plug is active. The seems pretty dumb to me. I then also figured out why there was 2 cables with the camera kit. One has to be used to plug in the bumper connection on the truck.
I used cable tracks to run the wires on the camper. For my 12year old camper I think it looks pretty good, but if I had a newer camper I don't know if I'd be happy with something like this.

As you apparently discovered for the 12-pin, only one is connected. I believe they do that to prevent noise interference, but just a guess.

If you have the 5th wheel prep, the 12-pin will be hot in the bed. To use the bumper connector for a TT, you have to unplug/plug the cable behind the bumper.

For the 2022+ Tow Mode Camera (LVDS digital coax), it's only that one round connector to the left of the license plate. The fifth wheel guys relocate that one to the bed. Ram should also provide a suitable connector there that the owner could at least switch cables like the 12-pin.

Any chance you could share a few pics of the on screen view?

Here's the pictures. It's in between a connex and a semi trailer, so not much to see there. I also took one with the review mirror camera. That one is adjustable on the angle you set it and it tilts down when you put it in reverse. I also was being stupid when I thought I had to run a cable from the bed connector to the bumper connector. All I needed to do was unplug the wire loom connector near the plug(red) and plug it into the bumper connector(blue) and put the blank in the loom plug.

Nifty, thank you!

Nice work on the cable routing and covers.
