That’s easily mitigated. I never lock the car without the FOB unless I’m sitting in it. I mean, you have a FOB, why in the world would you use the button on the door?

I never use the FOB to unlock or lock. So there!


As for the issue of the 3 horn honks...

I love that 3 horn honks when I leave with the FOB - I use to hate it - now I just embrace it.

So, the final word is, this feature can’t be disabled via AlfaOBD, Jscan, dealer tool, etc, because it’s just not a configurable feature in the BCM. And, don’t hold your breath on stellantis ever changing that.
Tazer DT and JL/JT can disable it for those vehicles as a live feature (the tazer needs to remain plugged in). The model for the HD Rams is the Tazer Ram, so you guys might want to contact Z Automotive and see if they can add that feature to the Tazer Ram.

I’m not sure, and I don’t have the means to test that. I’ve seen one instance (not sure if here or a different forum) where a member claimed this was the case, but I don’t think anyone challenged him or verified. I can’t really see how it would affect anything, but that’s something a few others who have active services would have to check out and see what the behavior is.

This. I run this on my JL Wrangler and it works perfectly for the side doors (though still honks for the rear gate).

Unfortunately I reached out to Tazer the other day about this capability, and they don’t support the ‘22 yet. They have a Uconnect5 incompatibility they are working through.

Hopefully something available in a few months.

I think this is unlikely as simple things like the AMP power steps use OBD2 as their signal. Additionally, many scan tools use it.

It was a proposed change to the Vehicle Safety Standard list of mandated safety features. https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...ards-theft-protection-and-rollaway-prevention

The same section also requires you to push the brake before starting a vehicle along with other measures to prevent roll away accidents and children being left in the vehicle.

You don't have to like it, but you might as well get used to it.

Nanny state BS! I’m trying to get them to buy back this Piece of Dog Sh** with the 200 miles I put on the Odo. @RamCares case manager Dennis told me “this is designed to protect you from yourself”. I don’t need some liberal from Stellantis tracking my driving habits…. I leave my dog in the vehicle frequently at various stops. I need to leave AC or heat on for him and lock the vehicle so he’s safe. Dennis on the other hand said windows should be up and car should be off for security while pets and children are in the vehicle. Did these @RamCares a**h**** ever hear of “Temperature”??? You utter morons. The auto park BS is next level @RamCares moronic. launch a bass boat 100x or more a year by myself, need to be able to have the door open.

Yeah there’s work arounds legal and illegal but there shouldn’t be for a $75k truck.

If GMC and FORD can make these user selectable then @RamCares morons should be able to. Everyone needs to stop b*tching on these forums and call the main number +1 (800) 992-1997 open a case and complain at all costs. That’s the only way we would have a chance at getting it fixed.

None of these safety features are listed as safety features anywhere but the book and the only way you’ll find out is the day it happens after you purchase the vehicle. Not on the window stickers, not on dealer websites, not in specs, no where. I would of never bought this PoS had I known.

3 honks in the middle of the night in the middle of a bunch of sleeping people seems like more than a minor inconvenience to me. Makes me feel like a whore in church when it happens. I'm still not used to it and it catches me off guard, especially when I'm half asleep. Kenworths, Peterbilts and Freightliners don't do that. Time for the pickup builders to realize how these trucks are being used and adjust accordingly. A pickup that'll tow 30k is no longer a grocery getter, it's a commercial vehicle more often than not, or at least being used by folks that should be allowed to select how our options function. I mean they let me turn off the F'n seatbelt chime, why can't I turn off the horn? These trucks aren't Priuses. LOL, what the hell is plural form of Prius?

I'm thinking about adding an overhead switch with a yank cable to hook to my horn and just isolate it from the system. I suppose unhooking the horn will throw a code? If so, I suppose a horn could be "modified" so it won't make much noise, if any, then the system could still be seeing it. Jumping to conclusions now, just need to unhook the horn and see how it goes.

Simmer down im not saying i disagree. The “safety” crap on these trucks is stupid same with emissions (i deleted mine) but throwing a temper tantrum and trying to get a buy back is a little extreme…

I have fake clips already so it doesn’t seat belt chime for my dog in passenger. I know that work around. I know spare fob taped under dash outta sight outta mind is another one. I don’t find either acceptable after dropping $75k. We shouldn’t even be having this discussion right now. It’s baffling to me.

I’m taking the stance it’s more of the point. If it was disclosed I wouldn’t have bought it. Period. Avoiding these 2 features with work arounds also leads into a laundry list of other safety/security issues.

Edit* another point after dealing with the customer care rep and his hostility, and seeing @RamCares and how they respond to us here and on social media, just owning the vehicle and driving it is free advertisement for them, hell no! Have had 5 Grand Cherokees, switched to Ram now, was actually working it out for the wife to get a Wagoneer this fall. Screw em, they lost a loyal mopar customer unless they make this right by the time of my appointment tomorrow.

The auto park is an 8speed thing its done that for years but the horn is a 22 thing the 19-21 trucks just ding the interior chime
