TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

My Vin is 3C63R3NL3KG673538 and it was built in Oct of 2019.

?

Your truck could not possibly have TTPMS as it wasn't available for orders until 2-5-20.

g00fy was asking for VIN of those trucks that had TTPMS ordered/delivered and posted he has a few VINs to work with now.

Let's hope that TIM isn't too dang much $$$. I already spent $65 to find out there was more needed and still don't know if my 433Mhz (not mopar) TP sensors will work.

Sorry I buttoned it all up already, but I pulled the passenger rear hanger hook down, which is one screw. Popped the passenger C Piller trim off which is 1 screw and a bunch of pop clips, but you gotta be careful the wiring for the rear defroster and slider is all tangled in there. That gave me enough play to pull down the corner of the liner and take the picture. I'm sure if you pulled the A & B pillar trim off you'll be able to get enough play out of the liner to wedge your dash cam wire in there.

How confident are you that plug is for the TIM?

Is it possible it's some other option? I don't see where you posted your trim level.

I have a Tradesman, i heard from my parts guy he said he's going to have to call mopar directly because he's having an extremely difficult time pulling up information on the TTPMS. I'm a bit concerned though because he sent me a file on the connector and it looks different than what i saw up in my head liner, but i have no idea what else could go up there exactly where the TIM is supposed to be mounted.

One possibility is the the wiring for the TIM is only installed when the option is purchased.

Rod Romain previously stated he believes even the dealer would not be able to install the option. Most likely, Ram would sell this as an add-on kit if it was as simple as plugging in two modules and changing a few configuration settings.

Carl my 2020 Ram 3500 has TTPMS. Any 2020 if ordered with TPMS can be ordered with TTPMS. If it is not built with it adding it later I don't believe would be an option with the tools the dealer has available.

This is 100% what I think. No way they would not offer the upgrade if it was possible.

Also rod romaine was the one who said the 365mm rear brakes only came with the max tow pkg an I proved that wrong. Much respect for RR, but he's not always spot on

Nice step by step. Any luck on getting the truck to see it?

You bet. After following the instructions here and scratching my head a few times, I have the ability to see the cluster display. What I don't yet have are the sensors that go into the tires. I just ordered them today. In probably a week, I will have the final go or no go. Attached is the picture from my cluster display.

Sweet. Which part number sensors did you order?

Any chance you can post a step by step of what you did to enable the receiver? I have one inbound and intend to follow your lead for my 2019 2500.

This is splitting fine hairs, but, as @brutal pointed out, Rod never actually said the 365mm brakes only come with the max tow package. Rod said, "For the max tow, we did increase to a 365mm rotor in the rear."

@brutal's point is that Rod's statement does not exclude the 365mm rotors from being included in other packages, like the HO package.

Maybe tomorrow I could get it done. I followed another members post. Maybe I should put it into a formal doc so it is all together.

I can tell you that if you guys prove RR wrong on the TTPMS, I'll never believe anything he says again. That would be the ultimate proof he has no idea of what he is talking about. Which would be quite sad to be frank.

Well it sounds like you got it all figured out then. For the rest of us who don't wan't to second guess every option , spec, standard, or functionality by saying , well gee, they didn't say it wasn't in there so it must be, is complete b.s. an naive an then puts every statement into a hypothetical word salad. Your right I should not have put the word " only" in there, that was not accurate, the fact were I said he's not always spot on is completely accurate, none of us are. The point was he advertised it as part of the maxtow pkg, wich took us forever to figure out who had them an what was the criteria to get them. Thats the whole point of these forums.
For the record, I'm not the one who drug brutal into this.

I want to clarify that I am not a Rod Romain fan. He's known for "word salad" as you call it. Here are some of his statements that are false or half-truths:

Half-truths:

I really hope the dedicated people on this forum figure out how to retrofit the TTPMS because I want to get rid of my aftermarket TTPMS.

g00fy and I were both able to get the Trailer TPMS enabled and showing in the EVIC.

Are you able to key cycle without getting a "Service required..." error in the EVIC?

I disabled mine Saturday hoping it would drop the tire pressure option in the trailer setup in the radio and I could possibly re-enable it again and have it recognize the receiver. I haven't looked at it since due to weather and waiting to hear if g00fy was able to get any additional module/part info that might be required (perhaps a "TIM" in the headliner) which still isn't fully understood.

Part of those false and half truth's can also be contributed to the "word salad" TFL's Andre uses in the interview and video.

The same video that some use to proclaim the SO is a different engine than the HO and doesn't have all the new improvements and changes. I think one person even went so far as to say the SO was the same as the old pre CGI 6.7. I believe this is primarily based on Andre's misleading "word salad" when asking Rod about the new "HO" and when describing it in the video. Watch it a few times and pay close attention at 1:45 and at 3:10. I don't think there's a definitive source of truth to exactly what is different about the HO other than some educated guesses that it's bigger injectors, a different tune, possibly different head/gasket or pistons as there is a documented lower compression ratio in the HO.

@ 1:45 "How does the new Cummins High Output differ from the outgoing one." As @thestuarts pointed out, Rod answers Andre without correcting Andre or clarifying that the new CGI 6.7 is both SO and HO versions.
@ 3:10 "...this is the High Output version, it's using a new pump, and a new block, and a new head..." Misleading info at best.

The TRUTH is right here on Cummins: https://www.cummins.com/engines/cummins-67l-turbo-diesel-2019

I like the TFL guys but they make mistakes too and sadly too many take their word and everything else they see on the internet as truth.

But I digress, this thread is about the TTPMS so I'll not comment again about the bad game of telephone on this subject and return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Just to confirm Brutal, you did NOT have the TTPMS option installed from the factory already correct?

Yes, I get the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitor System service required. Minor details. It is either due to an additional piece of hardware needed, another configuration change, or that there are no tire pressure sensors setup. I have a set of four sensors coming. Then I can see if it is possible to configure them and that the truck can see them.

Phil, did you order 4x individual P/N 68375992AA sensors or the kit P/N 52112451AA? I haven’t been able to find the kit P/N on any of the online parts dealers. There is a third P/N out there as well...
