Borla S Type exhaust

Sounds awesome! Is this a cold start? Had the ATAK on my old F150 5.0 and cold start was pretty loud on winter mornings @04:30 going to work. The neighbors knew I was up, I live in a condo. Can you post a drive by video?
Really thinking about this, I’m only 15 miles from their factory.

The Borla rates high on looks and tone, but it isn't loud. The rumble you hear in the video is only audible right next to the tail pipe. You can hardly hear it standing at the drive's door. It is definitely HOA friendly under normal driving conditions. Personally I wish it was a little louder, but overall I'm happy with it.

Mine isn't as quiet as you describe. I'm sure my neighbors know when i start up in the mornings.

I’m not overly impressed with the quality of the black exhaust tip. Any tips on cleaning it?

I received my Borla Type-S and it indeed only had 2 clamps in it. I called Borla to get them to correct this and the guy on the phone knew exactly the issue I was referring to and stated that this was supposedly corrected. He's going to send me out a clamp for my issue, but hopefully this has been corrected on the manufacturing line.

Anyone interested in mine? Removed it, trading in my PW.

Just PM'd you

I ended up giving the AFE Power Mach Force a try. I like it so far. There's some droning at certain speeds and accelerations, but overall, it's a vast improvement over the stock exhaust monstrosity. It is definitely louder. It also sounds better outside the cab than inside. You can hear the Hemi work nicely.

The droning occurs primarily in the 40ish MPH range when following slow traffic. At highway speeds, however, it's barely noticeable.

I tried to upload a short video but it didn't apparently work. Seems we cannot upload videos except from certain sites, etc. I wasn't aware.

So I was able to buy the used Borla exhaust from @mtbgordon (thank you again for making it happen!) and he had told me the black chrome was a bit faded, which I have seen on a couple of them. I ended up taking it to my buddy’s shop and having them do the entire last section of the exhaust, except where the sections fit together with the clamps, in black hi-temp powder coat. Picked it up on Friday and hoping to throw the PW on the lift tonight to install it! We’ll see how well it holds up!FEB00E50-DCC5-445B-9B18-092AD8FC77F5.jpeg

OK so installed the exhaust last night and after driving for a day I am VERY impressed with the Borla type S. Like everyone has said there is absolutely not drone when you are at highway speed, and in fact it practically sounds stock when at cruising speed. BUT, when you get on the gas you can definitely hear it. Overall I am extremely impressed with the exhaust system and have zero regrets putting it on.

Thanks for making a video. Sounds aggressive.

No way I would want to listen to that all the time
Ironically though, it’s only like that when you get on it, otherwise, in normal driving you don’t even notice it. I was actually surprised at how aggressive it sounded since it is pretty quiet otherwise. Literally don’t hear it at highway speeds - Borla threw some magic in that thing :D

How does it sound on the highway in 5th or 6th gear will towing? Just wondering if it drones in that situation or if the extra noise just gets old?

Actually you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference at highway speeds between this and the factory. There is no droning whatsoever. I have not towed with it yet, but imagine under load (up grades) you would hear it some - but it is overall surprisingly quiet. I only recorded the video because I was surprised how loud it was when I got on it.
