Power Wagon or Ram 1500 Limited?

Ha - I totally get it. Optimizing for your needs. Makes sense to me.
At some point probably more wants than needs, but yeah.
I suppose that only a few percent of PW's out in the US are actually driven off-road as intended, and even a lower percentage is driven on trails where a 1500 could not go. For the majority, it's the looks...but I totally get that.
Even down here, a PW definitively stands out. A 1500 limited does not.

Buddy of mine has a 5th gen 1500 limited night edition.
I have a 75th Power Wagon. I didn't notice and difference in width of the trucks. Did notice the flat deck in the back seat and the reclining back seats, but I don't ride in the back.
Interior I think is better in my PW over the Limited NE. Too plasticy looking compared to the metal in mine.
Power wagon looks more higher end than his NE.

Just my observation.

Also he's looking at how to lift with the air suspension and put on larger tires.

Good insight. I didn't realize the back seats reclined - but that's a problem for my kids.

Regarding the plastic interior vs metal, I'm curious which bits you were referring to? I thought they were largely the same, but perhaps I missed a detail somewhere.

The new Limiteds use the darker trim that's in the L3 now. The previous years used an ugly brown/gold color, that I can't stand and thought clashed with the gray leather. I wasn't a fan.

Funny, I've owned the truck for four years now and never knew. But as I very rarely use the back seat for actual passengers...

Mainly the surround on the dash, the glove box and the fill panel on the doors. It's supposed to look like wood, but it's a cheap job in my opinion. Mine has a better look on it.
I'll get some pictures of mine. Maybe it as a 75th only option?

Oh, yes, I know what you're referring to now. That sorta "diamond plate" look plastic. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the fake wood treatment in the limited either, especially on the steering wheel. I will likely replace that at some point.

The only thing I hate in that regard on my 1500 is that someone had the glorious idea of placing metal applications on the steering wheel around the cruise control buttons, the outer edge of whose being exactly where one would put their hands.
Definitively not compatible with MS summer, and I suppose many states further west would agree.

Wait, so you don't appreciate the Ram brand? How else will you know which truck you belong to??

Who, me?
It's not the RAM logo, and even if it was, there are plenty of logos to remind me what kind of truck I'm in ;-)

Currently drive and wheel/crawl a 2022 PW L3. I upgraded from a 2020 1500 Rebel. I drove the Rebel for a year before trading it in.

What I like about my Power Wagon over the Rebel?
Power and Torque at low RPM for days. Better crawling ratio. I have a front locker. I have a winch. Better articulation. Did I mention that I have a front locker and a solid axle? I can fit 37" tires without trimming (very little rubbing when maxed out). Better mirrors.

What did I like about the 1500 Rebel over the Power Wagon?
Better fuel economy. Smoother ride because of the front IFS. A little easier to get into at factory ride height. The rear seats in the crew cab have a flat floor which made handling tools, groceries and cargo much easier. I actually prefer the Rebel steering wheel over the 2500 because the arrows were in the correct position and everything made more sense (if I could switch them, I would). Harmon Kardon system was better in the Rebel. The 1500 cameras are all better quality and resolution than the 2500.

What similarities do both my Power Wagon and former Rebel share?
I purchased the Power Wagon L3 because I loved the 75th AE and it only became available a month after I purchased the Rebel. They both come stock with 33s. If you do not have the 75A or L3 package, you also have the same 17" wheels.

I would agree with all of the benefits you mentioned here. Those reasons are why I bought it originally. It’s a great truck.

My new truck is supposed to show up this morning. At the end of the day, I had to make a call on how I actually use the truck. I was paying for capability that I don’t/won’t use on that truck. Though it is gorgeous to look at. Will try to get a pic of them side by side when it arrives.

The Powerwagon is gone. It was a great truck, and watching it drive away was sad. But, this allows me to focus more on my other cars / builds.

They did look great next to each other. The delivery guy was trying to convince me to keep both. I almost did.

Well at least you picked the right color for the new truck. :)
Congrats and enjoy the new ride. I bet you will wind up missing the PW though.

I totally might. But I think I need to wait for the new cab design to get to the 2500s.

It was a beautiful truck

Adding in my two cents, (granted to didn't read the whole thread yet, off to meeting in 5 minutes)

My 2500 bounces like bad on the highway - and it's driving me bonkers. I know it's stiffer then 1/2 ton, but I feel it shouldn't be this rough. I'm looking at doing a Thuren Stage2/3 or a Carli Backcountry - from what I've read this should make it ride pretty damn close to a 1500 on the highway.

I've got 37's on the factory 17x8 - I'm currently running 30 / 25 on a load class D (50 PSI Max). Running MT Baja Boss MT, and I don't know if these tires just dont' balance or what , but I feel it's abnormal - I keep meening to get back to dealership and get someone to ride with me /shrug. I'm even using the Centramatic wheel balancers to try and help; but today I could swear I could see my hood shudder while driving down the highway.

Edit: Also if looking for a 1/2 ton. Might be worth checking out the F150 w/ Tremor. It gets some of the Raptor drive train, but not the ugly raptor interior. A buddy just got his last month and the new interior on them is very sharp. (Uconnect 5 is ****, and pisses me off more every day)

A bit OT here, but maybe that's the reason? Extreme mud tires never do well on the highway, it's just not what they're made for. They can certainly induce vibrations.
very well could be; I had the Maxxis Razr MT on my Avalanche and had zero issues with those. I've be wondering if these were the cause of my current issues.
