I’m looking at installing either a Ranchhand style bumper or a brush guard to protect the front end from either hogs or deers.

If you’ve added either can you post a picture. Trying to get an idea of how they look.

TIA.

Here's my Rancher. I researched several and chose Rancher because I believe it has the strongest mounts, evidenced by the fact that they don't need or use the upper strap mounts (over the bumper) that all the others require. I disconnected my front camera and added a camera to the front of the guard.

How does this mount? Could you tow out another vehicle from it?
It mounts with the factory tow hoops. You use the same mounts as the tow hoops just longer bolts. Then there is an upper bracket above the bumper to the gaurd for extra support. It seems extremely solid to me, I bought it as a deer guard for were I spend my weekends in the country. Haven't had to use it yet.

I have a Ranch Hand on my 2016 Eco, It mounts similarly and has stayed solid since installation in 2016.
For my 2020 HO, I wanted a guard that did not require those above bumper upper brackets. I believe the Rancher is the only guard that has strong enough frame mounts that it does not need those top brackets. That's the main reason I went with the Rancher

Aev finally released their beefy grille guard option. They say it’s strong, but I don’t know how strong it is. I haven’t seen one in person and my bumper was made before they shipped them with holes for it so I don’t even know where it mounts.

The AEV low bar is purely cosmetic, attached with two Allen heads. They even sell a kit to support it if you put lights on it, because it’s flimsy.

The center section of the bumper is extremely robust as are the recovery points. This is the business part of the bumper.

The outer wings of the bumper I wouldn’t expect to hold up to a large animal strike. They’re beefier than stock, but again not a ranch hand bumper

Overall, the AEV bumper was not designed around animal strike protection. It is designed to provide the strongest recovery points and adding a winch tray.

So in your opinion ranch hand sells a bumper that would handle large animal impacts?

Looks nice. Could you share what aux camera you went with?

I've seen plenty a Ranchhand that survived an encounter with bambi relatively unscathed and the big hogs that can be found here without much damage. The strongest are going to be the original style with the schedule 40 pipe as their main body aka the Legend series. There are plenty of similar style bumpers from Fronteir and others that I'd put in the same category having either had them or known guys that have them. You can usually tell around here who has hit something since they either start rusting or they're rattle canned black so don't expect the powdercoat to hold up after an animal strike. If you want to spend the extra cash having them linex'd is something that's popular here, but even that's not going to last forever.

*edit* Here's the Steelcraft that went on my old mans truck after he had a run in with Bambi. His truck being a base Lonestar (Bighorn) he didn't have sensors, cameras, or foglights to worry about.

I did not order that because I found the camera elsewhere for less money
