2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Sorry for the slightly off topic question…
Does anyone know how long the dealership is liable to hold my ordered truck on the lot? My work situation has me away from home for big chunks of time, and I was promised when I ordered that they would be able to hang onto it till whenever (not in writing).
Now truck has been delivered and dealership is saying they can’t hold it till I am home next, roughly 4 weeks… putting me in a bit of a pickle.

MSRP has gone up about 5k since ordering, so I’d guess they’re trying to push me out of it and sell to someone else at the new sticker.

For those of us that are adding gravity feed auxiliary tanks.
I have attached a picture of what I used on my last truck, and what I have also put together to use on my new tank for the 2022 RAM I have ordered.

I am only posting this, because I have had no issues with gravity feed with this setup (and it might help others).
It actually doesn't just keep up with the fuel usage, but will top off the tank as you drive, without a fuel pump.
The key problem I found was the kit supplied by the manufacture says it's a 3/8" valve, but it actually only has about a 3/16" orifice.

What I do not show in the picture is that I continue a 1/2" ID fuel hose from the 1/2" barbed fitting in the picture, down to the adapter at the main tank fill hose.
I then have a 1/2" barb to 5/16" barb reducer to connect to the roll-over valve on the fill hose adapter.

I use a 1/2" 12V solenoid valve, because I could not locate a full port 3/8" solenoid valve.

I also will be wiring the 12V solenoid valve to one of my auxiliary switches in the cab (just make sure it is wired to a switch that only receives power with the ignition on).
You don't really need the 12V solenoid valve, it just makes everything more convenient to turn flow on/off from the cab (instead of manually).

I did this setup after I noticed that most barb fittings also reduce the flow (i.e a 1/2" barb fitting only measures 3/8" ID).

Just some thoughts.
I have read about people having issues with the gravity feed on the new trucks as the computer goes crazy (fuel gauge suddenly going from full to empty in rapid repetition, mpg gauges going whack-a-do until the truck is shutdown and everything resets, etc) because your burning fuel but the tank stays full.

I did the same gravity feed with my last truck. It was a 2006, so all was good and when I installed the tank it was the last time I ever added fuel to the main tank. After reading all that, I bought a new 95 gallon tank/toolbox combo and a 12v transfer pump that I will wire to the auxiliary switch through a solenoid.

I figured with the 50 gallon main tank, I can make a day on it and fill up at night while stopped, or in a rest area worse case scenario.

Let me know how it works! I am not beyond going back to gravity feed if it works!

I have no clue, but that is utter BS they would pull that kind of stunt. Could you maybe secure financing with your bank and pay for it now, pick it up when your ashore next? Everything can be done with electronic signatures anymore, and the dealer could work with your bank unless they are that sneaky! I secured my loan a few weeks ago when the truck made it to Port Allen before the rates went back up. Bad news, the loan started the day the check delivered and interest has started, but I locked in before the rates went up .65%. Figured it was only 2 weeks, so all good.

I do love this setup with the electric solenoid! I’m bookmarking this for later use if it works for you!

Yeah I asked about paying now and picking up later but even still they said they wouldn’t be liable for damages (obviously). I’m off to Texas right now, hoping they come up with something in the next 3 days

Well, once you pay it will have insurance if something does happen. What about a family or friend picking it up and parking at the house?

I would be getting on social media, their website, and any other media I could to let everyone know how this dealership is sticking it to you!!! UGH…this pisses me off and it’s not even my truck!

Biggest fear - it’s a black truck. I really want to see it face to face before I pay 95k… I bet it would be loaded with swirls and they would say it’s my problem since I paid for it

I was pretty pissed when they sent over the first price sheet a few days ago.. getting pissed with them on the phone gets me nowhere though.
The worst of the worst, if I don’t end up buying it because of their nonsense, I essentially got them a unicorn truck for free and they can absolutely charge ADM on it.

Who is your dealer ? Can they arrange to have it delivered to your home on your dime after it’s paid for ?
Mines black and is flawless, MD arranged shipping to me from them and everything went well.
No scratches, dings, or dents. The cost to me was $1.00 per mile, for a 15hr trailer trip.

If your picking up your truck or having it delivered make sure to check both your doors for the foam bottle holders. If you ordered a dually I’m afraid the center section of the rear wheel liners is still MIA
If you want the oem slush mats they can be found on eBay for $170.00
I ordered a set and they are very nice.

Ordered 4/11. Built on 6/13 and have been JB since. Lost in Mexico
Our trucks were JB partying together for 5 weeks, “Wasten’ away in Margarita Ville, looking for my lost shaker of salt. Some people say that there’s a woman to blame, but I know, it’s my own damn fault!”

Keep the faith, it won’t be long!

Did you figure out where to get MIA liners?

Dang mine was ordered 4/12, and is KZLD 7/22. And that’s for a fully option limited with a sunroof.

Make sure you are truly KZLD. The tracker said just that on mine, but my Confidential Informant advised I was actually JB.
