Instructions for Trailer brake controller

Here's the link I use to access ram chat or phone or email, just depends how anti social your feeling.

I went to FCA RAM after an hour said take to dealer. That's when I found this site and had everything set up quickly

I could not find a Ram Chat to get a hard copy. I did find " Uconnect 4c with 12- inche display manual" as a pdf download here:

I could not find this supplement on the Ram or Mopar sites.

Unfortunately this pdf does not address the trailer brake control which can be found on the Uconnect screen. It really seems to be only for music, SiriusXM and navigation, but hats ok. I listen to the radio pretty much only for news and weather.

Looks like Rich helped you find the chat, sorry I didn't get you the answers out of the manual as you can see it's man-proofed (aka still in the plastic wrap... LOL).

Contacted Ram chat; they said there are no written copies of the Ucnonnect 12 manual. They are sending a hard copy of the Ram and diesel supplement manuals.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

No hard copies of the Uconnect 12 manual? Did you show them a copy of the picture I posted of mine? Or do you mean they were just out of stock at the moment?

I did not show them your pic. They just said there are no printed copies. Here is the email they sent to me:

Thank you for contacting Ram Customer Care.

Congratulations on your new Ram 2500! That is a gorgeous truck!

We are happy to provide you with a copy of your Owner’s Manual and Warranty Booklet. I have requested the booklets to be sent to you, as soon as I have confirmation the booklets have been sent I will follow up with you.

In regards to the 2019 Ram Uconnect 4C NAV with 12" Display booklet and the 2019 Ram 2500 Diesel Supplement I'm afraid we don't send out physical copies. The booklets are available on Mopar.com as well as I have attached a pdf copy of both booklets to this email.

I have also sent you a second email with a link to our Owner Support+, our Owner Support+ has helpful videos on how to work various features in the vehicle, and a digital copy of the window sticker.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance by replying to this email or calling us at (866) 726-4636.

Thank you again for your email, Have a great day!

Best wishes,
Cara

That's really strange, mine were in my glovebox when it was delivered to the dealer. I know because I was there when it was unloaded. Maybe they didn't have a hard copy for the 19, only the 20? Seems weird, it's the same radio.

It does seem strange. I asked the salesman and the only hard copy was a 2018 Owner's manual, nothing else.

My sales guy handed me the OM in a bag that included the diesel supplement and Uconnect manual. Go back to your dealer and ask for (demand) them.

I believe the Uconnect User Guide is also IN the Uconnect if you can figure out how to get there. LOL

I have only found generic trailer names also.

I went out to the garage and played with the Uconnect. On my truck generic names can be selected for up to 4 different uses. I could not input a personalized name. I selected "Utility" for trailer #1, and "Travel" for trailer #2. Other generic names available include Car, Boat, 5th wheel, etc. About 20 or so, although I did not count the generic names available. The engine had to be running to get to the trailer brake menu. Hope this helps.

I could not determine how to access the Uconnect manual from the 12" screen. I wonder if maybe it can only be accessed when the engine is running...I will try again tomorrow and report back here. I may just back the truck out of the garage tomorrow; tonight I had the engine running and the doors closed. I was so intent on figuring the trailer brake names out I forgot I was in an enclosed room: I also had string lights coiled throughout the open engine compartment in an attempt to try to minimize the chances of squirrels nesting in my truck, and I also had the charger plugged in. I mean I know better than this right? I just made a sign to hang on my steering wheel to remind me of these things. My wife says that I get so focused on a problem I would forget to breath if she did not remind me. She reminds me to do a lot of things...

We call it (RV) a roll'n dog house. Didn't think the truck needed to know that but that was last June. I'll have to have a another look see.
Yep, generic names it is. Ain't so bad. Haven't assigned any and probably won't. Much more concerned that the truck recognizes the trailer and that the trailer brake works. Re the Uconnect manual that is reportedly embedded in the S/W, I honestly don't think it's in there.

I an't find any manual in the Uconnect 12. It is also interesting that when I throw up the iPhone screen to the Unconnect screen, the Uconnect allows several of the basic iPhone apps, but will not allow access to documents. Specifically I have the Ram OEM manual and Uconnect 12 manual as PDF files, but cannot access these through the Uconnect 12" screen. Does anyone know a work around?
