I ordered a night edition 3500 and it showed up in chrome. According to the salesman, the factory canceled the night edition and replaced with chrome.

I never heard that before. Is that possible? The factory canceling options without any notice?

I was exited to get a night edition truck with Silver. First time ordering a truck the way I wanted and not buying off the dealer lot.

The dealership offered to replace the chrome bumpers to painted.

Not sure what the night edition costs on that particular truck but I'd say they owe you a 2-3k discount. I'd be looking it over carefully to see what else was deleted. What does your original POC say and what does the window sticker say?

I will ask for a discount. I will be looking for every option that I ordered against the window sticker. Thanks for the tip.

Just looked at your window sticker and it isn't on there. If your signed POC has it on there, then I'd say ram must have deleted it but I haven't seen that in the 6 months I've been hanging around here. Almost wondering if your sales guy messed up.

I am wondering about it too. He was very quick to offer painted bumpers to make me happy. He said the factory deleted the night edition, but I am very skeptical about it.

Nevertheless, I always had chrome Rams and another chrome truck will not hurt. Especially with deep discounts.

Plus it won't stone chip like painted bumpers.
 
There is hope after all. They must have finally found all May 16th through May 20th trucks sitting in the corner.

Let me start by saying I have a billet silver and chrome Laramie enroute. Now that I have fully disclosed a potential conflict of interest I feel free to be me. I originally wanted a night edition but the wife said "big trucks have chrome - that looks like a raptor." After having my panic attack and throwing up for 3 hours I settled down and realized how big of grenade I dodged. Far be it from me to make fun of raptor owners but those lil guys are the silliest gooses in the nest. All that is to say chrome will get you home. In conclusion, I prefer the night edition and if I didn't have a farm where the bumpers and painted wheels would get thrashed I would have happily driven my Cummins raptor wannabe all around. But the wife didn't like the night edition, I did like the night edition, and we compromised and didn't get the night edition. The chrome does look pretty macho though.

I believe they finally did! Mine went from JB to KZLD after 58 days, but still hasn't shipped and the tracker still shows TBD...but it's way better than sitting in the JB Black Hole
 
You know I forgot to mention that KZLD doesn't necessarily mean standing still. Mine has gone from Saltillo to Laredo, Laredo to Midlothian, and now it is either in Illinois or close to Illinois. All the while...KZLD. My truck will be KZLD when I owe something like $80K on it at delivery. My trucks license plate will be KZLD. My next child will be Kelly Zack Larry David.

My wife was against ordering the night edition too. But I ordered it anyway. Now, I think she called the salesman and canceled the night edition before he had a chance to put it into the system .

I currently have a painted bumper on my 2019. It has rock chips everywhere. I think in the end I dodged the grenade too. We have lots of dirt roads around here too. I will be fine with a billet silver and chrome truck.

If you're happy I'm happy but how can we turn this on the wife? Certainly want to repeat "wish I had that night edition" every few days.

I like a little chrome on the front end but didn't like that ram decided to dip the entire front end in chrome. Wish you could get a chrome bumper with paint matched grill. I went sport edition and if the bumper gets chipped up, I'll throw chrome ones on. Also hated the huge (unnecessary) upcharge of the night edition. Honestly wish I could have gotten the black front end of the tradesman. My current 1500 has chrome bumpers and even it has a few rock chips and actually started rusting on the backside, both bumpers.
