2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Same here. My estimated delivery was and has been July 25th for the last few weeks, then on Friday it went to July 18th, and then today went from July 17th this morning to TBD this evening. Very interesting.
Hopefully it means they are there doing the pdi. Ours trucks are close ordered mine 2-23 built 5-21

Our tuck has arrived - Order Date, 04-25-2022, Arrived at dealer 07-15-2022, pickup 07-18-2022. Happy for a smooth transaction but feels bad for those of you with such a long wait.

Now: what's everyone's take on the various "added" item. Vehicle Service Contract up to 100k 7 years $3,701 except powertrain; Prepaid Maint 5 Years 60k miles $1,182; Gap Ins $895; Permaplate Protection $1,099; Complete Protection $899 (basically windshield replacement for 5 years up to 5 claims); Road vantage care 7 years 0 deductible (sidewall flat replacement, dings 4" diam, key replacement) $1,510; Expel clear film and window tint $2,999: Expel deluxe, window tint & 1/3 hood, 1/3 fender $1,699; Expel basic, window tint, door side film and handle film $799.

It's a personal thing, but over a lifetime all those warranties are a losing gamble. There's a maintenance curve for mechanical things that's shaped like a bathtub. Things will either break quickly because of manufacturing defect (this is the early part of your period under the factory warranty) OR they will wear out in the long run (this is the period AFTER any extended warranty you can purchase, the backside of the bathtub that has more slope). Extended warrantys are offered in that bottom of the bathtub low probability timeline. Say no to all extended warrantys over a lifetime and you will win hands down. There are huge databases with this data for about anything produced from vehicles to HVAC to roofing materials, etc.

Hope that wasn't confusing....

As far as gap insurance....how often do people total big trucks like this? How do you drive, and where? Just make sure you don't hit another RAM... hehehe....

Now I can’t remember if the Level B equipment group listed the ventilated seat when I ordered in a month ago.
I think it did a month ago and removal from all Laramie this is a fairly recent thing. Only reason I think it was included is because I was building a second 22 about a month ago and the more expensive of the 2 equipment groups had ventilated seats. I assume you do not have a build sheet or window sticker yet?

Okay, just pondering (after 60 days at outside vendors, I have plenty of time on my hands)….if these aren’t available because they are out of stock:
  1. Ventilated seats
  2. Digital rear view mirror
  3. Auxiliary trailer camera
  4. Towing technology group B
I have all of those options on my truck. Maybe, just maybe, that’s why I have been sitting there for 2 months. But my guess is people have had trucks built after mine with those options and have taken delivery while my white wide-hipped beast has accumulated enough dust to make you think it was actually ordered in desert brown. What in the wide world of sports?!?!?!?!?!?

Saddle up, buckle up, and enjoy the ride  … But I am starting to get saddle sore!

I’ve went back on the ram page several times and built the exact same truck I ordered and since I placed my order you can’t add the HO with the bighorn. You add the nicer equipment package it kicks the HO off . This has been going on since March.
Not sure what they changed but I just tried again and it’s the same.

Thanks. Mine sat in Saltillo for 105 days. So I’m already in full swing of the crap show. However, several sources confirmed my truck arrived at PA on July 3. No telling when delivery to MD will be though. But the ram tracker recently updated to a sooner date. That’s all.

Goodness! Ours were produced on the same day!

Mark it down!! It's real and I'm on the way to go get it as we speak.

The 02 has served us well. Bought it new off the lot with some hail damage for $27k. 20 years and 136,xxx miles later I’m ready for the 2022 to finally show up…..but I’m gonna miss the old girl.

Feeling a little nostalgic and anxious…..

I couldn’t let my 5.9 go, it’s sitting at my buddy’s house in FL while I tour the country with workhorse Betty.

Mine did about the same.
From what I’ve heard from MD this past week I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not setting at MD but hasn’t been checked in yet. I was told that almost 300 vehicles arrived around July 4th and they are very behind on sorting through everything, vehicles have a first inspection before your contacted which will be a email with instructions on how to proceed with the process…

As much volume that flows through Mark, most would be surprised at how small the dealership actually is. I’m glad to hear that a lot of trucks have made it in though.

My BH was pretty well optioned out too.

I’m guessing that the parts supply bit my parent’s Southwest Edition reorder in the butt. The first was completed in less than 8 weeks, But this one was still at “D” last week after being placed around March 24th.

I feel bad for them since they were expecting delivery of the first order last month, but now have their money tied up on a truck with interest rates increasing.

@cborgen - if you want a service contract, read THIS thread. I am going through them and it looks to be the best deal out there. I do my own maintenance since I have a lift and a shop. Gap insurance - if you are putting enough down, or if you have good auto insurance, I would not go for that; NO WAY on permaplate protection, complete protection, road vantage care or Expel (from the dealer at least). Remember the negotiating a price is the easy part - typically the finance side is where people REALLY get taken advantage of. Again, if it were me I would ONLY do an extended warranty if you want peace of mind. If you do get it, go through Zach at Granger since they only mark it up $50 over their cost!

Sorry you’re having to deal with this. I wish they could at least release the vehicle roadworthy and ship parts to the dealer when available.

My buddy bought a DRW Denali off the lot a week before I picked mine up (he lucked out finding one). He told me I did it the right way, ordering a Ram and waiting, but he was not going to go through that. Anyway, his truck sticker had “delete” all over it, but the dealer had told him some parts they would install when they came in if he added to the purchase, i.e. the rear backup sensor harness.

I’d like to know if I could add the rear ventilation off the 1500 to the 3500. The console has the blank plate for the switches….

What all do they exactly cover? I have the mopar warranty on my gas truck but have never used it. My main concern with a warranty on a diesel is what they cover. The Def system to be covered is what I’m looking for the most and a inexpensive deductible..

OMG….BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found out I went KZLD on 7/15…2 days ago!!!!!!!! 58 days in JB…

Someone found her shoved in the corner at the JB shed where she had been collecting dust for 58 days and dusted her off, saying, “Lookey what I found!”

@Leadchuncker THIS link has a good description of what is covered. My neighbor has it and had to use it for the DEF and exhaust system. Being in CA, diesels are a pain. He paid $200 out of pocket when the quote was $6198.00 to repair. I get am getting it more for peace of mind (all the stinking electronics and nightmare stories of UConnect) since I have a gasser. Just waiting to hear back on pricing from Zach at Granger.

Hmm that doesn’t list 3500’s
I went on my mopar warranty site and asked about the new truck so I’ll wait to see what they say before getting up with your guy
