Are these tire ripples of concern?

I was sitting on the porch the other evening and the angle of the low setting sun illuminated some ripples in my tires. Only at that low sun angle are the ripples visually apparent due to the shadows - normally one doesn't notice them. However, when I rub my fingers across the rubber I can certainly feel them. The right side tires were in full shadow so the ripples didn't show up, although I can feel them just like on the left side tires. I know the tires put on at the factory are less than desirable, yet I was willing to wear them out before replacing them with something better.

The truck has less than 10K miles at this point. Should I be concerned about this?

pretty much every OEM tire I have seen is like that. I have a set Wrangler duratracs that were like that from day one. All 5 spare included. If it were just one I might worry but there is no way all 5 would have defect...

I noticed this on mine...but also noticed the white letters from the transforce peeling? 2 of 4 ( only on passenger side). Only 4500 miles..

I replaced them with cooper rugged trek... Best decision ever...

Did your warranty cover the replacement?

I got them replaced out of pocket. But I spoke to Bridgestone and have a reference # and I have to get tires inspected at a Firestone dealer.. so well see if they will do anything..

Dodgeram812, did you have any luck getting them reimbursed by Firestone? My Transforce tires are much worse. The sidewall has peeled back on the entire circumference of one tire. Uneven tread wear between tires. Despite perfect alignment, proper inflation, and frequent rotation, some tires wore extremely fast near the outer (whitewall) edge, others more slowly. On the tires that the tread wore quickly, the sidewalls also delaminated, revealing the white under the black sidewalls. The raised white letters are peeling off, like you noted. There is a "seam" or "cut" visible all around the circumference of the tires at which they start to peel back. (Never hit curbs - this is a highway vehicle). Firestone says it is a common "mold defect" and is only cosmetic, while the local tire shops and the RAM dealer say they are dangerous and should not be driven. Firestone Warranty says to take it to a Firestone store. The Firestone store says they don't do anything for OEM tires, and I should instead call Corporate Firestone Customer Service. Customer Service says to contact Warranty. Firestone is driving me crazy. Of course, RAM says they have nothing to do with tires (even though they supplied them). I just need to save up some money to get rid of these horrible tires.

That is so wrong, I was airing up my tires on my truck today because I am picking up a fifth wheel tomorrow. As I was airing the tires, I saw creases where dry rot type damage is developing. Just rolled over 10k miles. The fact that Ram is not doing anything about replacement your tires is just pure corporate greed. Managers and directors worried more about saving every penny than taking care of their customers. I dont have much hope for replacement of the tires, but I have to try. Good luck on your end.

Your tires are worn out why bother the only thing they will do is prorate a new set of firestone garbage but with your tread wear you will pay almost 75-85% of a new set anyway

These tires don't last very long from new they are not that great.

The OP's post about tire undulations is a normal condition.

@MCV how many miles are on those tires?

Jetrinka, I'm sorry I did not see your question. I believe I have all my settings such that I should receive an email alert when any thread I interact with has a response. But apparently I set that up wrong.
The sidewalls began peeling about 12k miles if I recall correctly. I was advised (by Firestone) to overinflate (to as near 80 psi as I would stomach) to try to reduce edge wear. Those photos were at ~20k miles. I have discarded them and currently running Falken Wildpeak AT3W. So far, very impressed.

Mine were 1/2 bald at 6k miles! Glad you got rid of those garbage tires
