Just a quick shout out to everyone for posting and keeping things interesting on here. I can only take so much of anyone’s 24 hour news channel cycles of despair. I know the threat is real, I’m sorry for those who’ve been affected by it. I’m working in a support capacity so I see it and I’m doing what the government is telling me to do to limit my risk and those around me.

This place provides a welcome distraction to read and interact, by more than 6 feet, with you good people to chat about one of the coolest things in life...an awesome truck. Thank you and keep it up. I hope you and your families all stay safe and healthy.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your kind comment and wishes, and best wishes to you and your family as well.

We're on the same boat here, complying with the "stay at home" current policy. Both of my Ram's trucks are parked in front of the house, all cleaned up and patiently waiting to hit the road.
Luckily for me: I get a chance to go out once a day to visit and attend all needs of my 82 years old mother, that lives by herself, 3 miles of distance from my house. Consequently, I alternate drive either truck back and forth taking the "longest route" just to bring the engines up to temperature, at least.

I'm 55 years old and self employed since 1993. I am a General Contractor and a Specialty Contractor, so my daily routine happens out of the house, on the jobsite. I really miss being out there with my employees and subcontractors, regardless of all that happens on a typical workday at the jobsite: the good parts, the mistakes, the missing attendances of the younger workers and all their related "bs drama".... LOL... Yes, I miss all that !! If this is like what retirement feels like .... I will then retire "feet first" , for sure !

On a more positive note: actually, I finally got a chance to clean up and organize my garage and shop, as well as perform all kinds of maintenance and repairs around the house. My girlfriend lives with me and works from home for the past 3 weeks (she's an accountant for a tech firm), we setup a temporary office with high speed internet and twin monitors, video conferencing capacity at its best !!

We grounded our 2 cats indoors for the time being, veterinarians are in low capacity at this time and we don't want to take a chance of needing their services.

I'm also a HO trains model railroader, 75% of my basement peripheral walls are filled with train tracks and rolling stock. I now have plenty of time to continue to work on it.

Cheers, and stay safe and healty !
Steve.

Thanks for your post! We are definitely all in the same boat on this one. I'm supposed to be on a beach in Maui. Today would have been day two of 8. Instead I've been playing fill the dump trailer the last few days. I make aircraft brakes, an essential employee, so business as usual. Except no one is flying and that's not good for us! Glad I'm a top performer and had a great review:)
Good news is my Rams new Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs in LT285/75/18(35"s) showed up Friday. Bad news is UPS and MHT/fuel lost my new Fuel Vector 18" w/+20 offset wheels. I got a tracking number on 3/24 but no first scan and no info since. Can't wait to see how long this takes. XDP diesel says I have to wait till UPS settles the claim.
Guess we all get an exercise in patience!
Stay Upright!!

ST3500 Steve you sound like an awesome guy. I agree with your sentiment about missing interaction, positive or negative. You're a good man taking care of your mother, I hope you all get through this ok. God bless

Both good and bad news with your tires and wheels. I’m sure they’ll find the wheels, if not follow the UPS driver home and see what kind of wheels he’s got on his truck!!

It’s a small world, both my wife and I are also in the essential category in the aviation industry. And my son in law is a commercial airline pilot. As someone who used to fly a lot I appreciate your efforts, I always like for the plane to stop when it needs to!!

There’s not a lot of flying going on right now BUT we will get to the other side of this soon. This is a global problem so the best minds in the entire world are working on it. Someone is going to crack the code. We are close to retirement, within 2 years and were feeling pretty good that the stock market was doing well and the property values in our area were really starting to take off and now this. We’re fortunate that we will recover but I feel for the self employed business owners like Steve (ST3500) and others who are the fabric of the country and their ability to come back after this ends. I think we’re all going to be ok, the problem affects the world equally so we’re all in the same position.

There’s always troubles in life but Americans are resilient, we’ve fought pretty much every kind of evil, we even fought ourselves and we’re still here. And we drive trucks that are built RAM tough so we got that going for us too. Reminds me of a song by a guy named Paul Thorn. I pasted the link below if you want to give a listen.

I work in a hospital, see patients first hand. We take a lot of precautions, but it is still a scary ordeal. I think I am most thankful and impressed for those folks at stores working checkout stands and getting exposed to hundreds of people they don’t know every single day so we can keep getting food and supplies.

Yeah big shout out to grocery store, first responders, health care, take out restaurant and anyone I missed. Thanks for putting your asses on the line! I felt like I was committing a crime giving cash to the lady at the dump yesterday. Can't wait for the next version of normal to start!

We saw Paul Thorn live here in our podunk town a few years ago, and he put on a heck of a show.

I posted this in another thread but here it is for your enjoyment.

This guy plays every evening in the open space behind out house.

Yeah I placed my order right as this was unfolding and it didn't make it to production before the shutdown so I stare at a VIN and nothing more. Spending a few minutes here is helping me keep my sanity. But my inconvenience is nothing compared to how this is impacting people and changing or ending lives, I use my frustration as a distraction from that. I'm happy everyone keeps posting about stuff I need to research and buy... eventually.

Settle a claim with UPS??? Good luck with that. We had an expensive claim with them and it took 1.5 years to get them to pay, even though it was fully insured and tracking stopped mid-travel.

Boss was making the rounds (lots of shelves still empty) Fri gathering up some nourishing necessities. She encountered a young lady packing groceries and keeping stuff clean who admitted to being scared to be there. Said she was gonna stick it out, though, cuz it was important for folks to be kept fed. There just ain't enough thanks for that kinda attitude.

Good post, OP!

Mine never even saw the first scan. Two separate packages with two separate labels both vanished. I think someone at Fuel sent them to the wrong place but XDP, Fuel/MHT and UPS don't really care about me. I'm tempted to fight the charges on the C.C. but then they will show up on the doorstep five minutes later. MHT says the replacement set should roll out April 14.
