TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

the tire minders are what I currently use on my fiver an they have worked great for me. I have a feeling this is not going to be a good time for ordering after market accessories with all that's going on. I already got another email about a lund hood defender that's quit producing.

You'll probably be one of the first to check the function of the Tireminder sensors against the truck TTPMS.

In all honesty, I'm not really concerned with all the extras right now. I just want the dang thing to ship out, an get here with out damage. Government Just announced on tv there looking at northern an southern border closures but nothing yet.

Hopefully that doesn't include freight shipments. I can't imagine it does, we would be crippling ourselves in that case. I'm sure it's more along the lines of visitors from our two borders. Canada has closed their border already to visitors.

So just to get up to speed, for anyone who wants to add TTPMS to their truck, we don't know what kind of extra hardware is in the trucks with the XG9 option? From what i read it's pretty certain there's an extra sensor module in the bumper plugged into the harness somewhere, but not sure if there's extra wiring that needs to be added also? I just finished adding a UAX 12" to my tradesman and now i want to add TTPMS for my toy hauler.

I've read in some threads there may be a sensor and wiring in the headliner in the rear of the cab but don't know how reputable that is or why there would be a second unless the bumper sensor is just a repeater.

As has been brought up by a few others, apparently Rod romain, chief engineer, has said the dealers don't have the ability to flash in new software to display the TTPMS screens. Take it with a grain of salt.

Well the dealer may say they can't, but Alfaobd says I can...Screenshot_20200404-142522.png

All I need now is the hardware.

Now if those of us that didn't order this option can't get it installed after the fact so we're out of luck?
My truck didn't come with trailer TPMS, I just told the BCM to enable the feature using Alfaobd, all I need to do now is find out what extra hardware I need to make it work.

I guess I misunderstood. That's great news.

Good idea, that was really easy lolView attachment 3487

It should be noted though that I had to do this with the WINDOWS version of alfaobd using advanced mode I forced Alfaobd to connect as if my 2019 was a 2020 which then showed the option for trailer TPMS.
Sweet!

So the Android version wouldn't do it?

Dang. Do you know what discount he offers if you already own the android version?

If your truck is a 2020 you should be able to do it with the Android version, but if you have a 2019 like me you gotta use advanced mode in the windows version to access the ability to force it to connect to your truck as a 2020 and show the extra bcm settings.

When I bought the windows version with the discount it was 24.99 Euros instead of 49 .

Don't tell @Rich , He will have a coronary.

The P/N for the receiver is 68375990AA , the P/n for the sensor kit is 52112451AA for 4 sensors, the P/n for the 10 ft wire harness that goes from the receiver to the chassis harness is 68395315AB. The chassis connector on a chassis cab is located on the aft cross member, just left of center, if it's already installed. The TTPMS user guide can be found at https://www.ramtrucks.com/BodyBuild...e=Ram_CC HD_Trailer TPM Users Guide_MY19+.pdf.

Yes, 2020 (in my sig)

I was able to enable the Trailer TPMS with AlphaOBD on my Android phone. I only just today got my security bypass cable installed.

Of course, after a key cycle, it reported an error and "Service Trailer TPMS..." so I disabled it until I can track down the parts.

ETA: I also didn't see the tire pressure option in the trailer menu on the radio, but that might be something that takes a wait time like other enabled options sometimes require.

Did I read the .pdf file/Users Guide correctly?

It stated the "P/N for the sensor kit is 52112451AA for 4 sensors" was included if the vehicle was ordered with this feature?
