2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Put my order in on friday, and I just got my VIN. That was way better than the five months I waited for a VIN from Ford. How soon after the VIN is assigned do you usually see a scheduled build date show up in the tracker?
I’ve been waiting over 4 months

I have been reading this forum as a guest for about a week and I have decided to join the growing community of "expecting" RAM truck owners.
I traded in my 2018 RAM Reg. Cab/Long Bed/SRW/Cummins 6.7L/SLT.
When I went to the dealer, I could not believe the value of my 2018. In 2020 it was only worth roughly 25K, they gave me 40K for my 2018.

I have ordered a 2022 RAM 3500 4x4/Crew Cab/Long Bed/DRW/Cummins HO 6.7L/ Big Horn/Level C Package/5th Wheel Prep/30K 5th Wheel Hitch/Cloth Bucket Seats/Bed Utility Group/Premium Lighting Group/Side Steps/Protection Group.

Truck color Patriot Blue.

New truck ordered on 5/19/2022.
VIN received on 5/25/2022.

Not scheduled for production yet.

I know I am in for a bit of a wait.

Can anyone tell me where I can get the code for my status? I only know to go to the RAM Vehicle Order Number site.

Thanks!
Congrats, sounds like you are in D status

Congrats sounds like you are in D status as well

i have been in D since May 9th, Ordered May 6th, I'm a baby compared to some of the others,
Scheduling depends on you options selected. There are orders after mine that are scheduled, there are orders before mine that are not. It loosely seems to depend on options selected.
This is the pattern that I have seen
Lately it seems to be between 30-90 days before it goes to D1 (scheduled) and gets in the queue for building, then another 30-90 days to get actually built. assembly is a few days 2-3. Then if you have bed-liner, bed step, or steps it will go to another vendor. then return back for final inspection and then prepped for shipping. then seems to be at least another 30-90 days. unless you get stuck in a lot. If in a lot as many seem to be due to rail car shortage (related to a variety of factors, personnel and resources). the wait is magnanimous.

my order is 10 days behind yours, so we can keep an eye on progress along this journey and see where it differs. I have a pretty complex set and array of packages on a Big Horn HO Diesel. so we will see.

Welcome to the forum. Many details/mods and reading materials here.

Also consider doing what @99mo mentioned here

Mine must think it’s in the navy… Stopped at another destination and drunk again.. That bastard better not be making 1500’s with some hoochy Durango !!!

Dang, what did Sandi say? Think it should of well and been parked at Port Allen

I had Sandi write up this build for me and I have a couple of questions maybe you guys can answer. I forgot to mention I am eligible for affiliate pricing. Is this something I should mention to her, or does she usually give the best price without the affiliate?
Also, I'm on the fence about the trailer surround view. I've noticed some are selling the system after purchasing their truck. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could add this later with my build, or if I'm missing some hardware that would be necessary for the system to work? thanks

I posted the phone number for the yard in Port Allen. My truck spent two days there. I called and they put it on the very next truck heading to MD. This was back end of March beginning of April.
Ordered a 3500 DRW on May 11, got a confirmation of order from Ram a week later. Not sure if or when this truck will show up but from what I read here it doesn’t look very promising. My 2500 SRW 6.7 has its work cut out pulling a large RV until this shows.

What is KZ status? I have seen kzld and others but mine is stuck in plain ol’ kz.

Pricing - MD will come back with ~11% off, affiliate pricing will be pretty much the same (+/-). You can mention it and see what magic she can work.
Trailer Surround View - You could ask for the prep, but not get the camera. Though I havent seen many people actually installing it.

Just a few other points of note, if you need the truck quickly, there are some package shortages you should review. With the Trailer Surround view and others being included - https://hdrams.com/more-semiconduct...o-revise-some-packages-for-heavy-duty-trucks/

Rubber Floor mats are short, they are available aftermarket for only a little more than factory, and you get to pick and choose when you use carpet vs Rubber.

Towing - If your going to tow, also consider if you want to go the HO/Aisin

Oh, I see,
Luckily my dealer is only about 20 miles from the yard, I guess they have permission to go and pick up trucks from there if they are taking too long to transport, I guess that is not an option in your case.

I guess I got overly excited. With the fords, the vin assignment came with a scheduled build date so I assumed getting the VIN meant I was getting scheduled. I now see that it’s not the case with Ram. Oh well ‍

They must have saw you were Army and figured you couldn't count and wouldn't notice! :)

For real though, your time at the vendor is absurd. Hoping she escapes soon, or better yet surprises you at the dealer.

I figure one of my options is out of stock and they are waiting on resupply. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Maybe the nozzle is clogged on the sprayer for the bed-liner and no amount of cleaning is making it work again (try soaking it in Cerveza instead of drinking it).

As far as counting, I only counted 5 things in the Army:

1. Are you hurt?
2. Do you have ammo?
3. Where in the hell is the artillery and close air support?
4. Where and when is the next trip to the local bar?
5. Can we go home now?

All necessary counting done on one hand :D

Im worried the shipping to Marylan will be longer than the 30 days the desler told me based on other members posts and the gact that I added the a tonneau cover.

Mark Dodge sells at the EP (which I think stands for Employee Pricing) listed (in your case $76,019). Isn't that what she quoted?

As for the Trailer Surround, not sure - heck, it's been so long since I ordered and sooooo many drinks since then, I can't remember if I ordered that or not
