What did you do TO your RAM today?

Not what I did but what I told her.. told her to expect another car seat as just found out the boss of both of us is pregnant with our 2nd. Seemed to go over as well as it could've.. hoping to be able to flip the orientation of car seats as I would prefer not to move my BlueRidge Overland seatback setup :p .. you know.. the important things...
Well you have to have priorities.

Congratulations!

Did my first oil change on the truck, fixed an intermittent issue with my new rear camera, and installed the CJC / Baja designs S2 backup lights.

I was not expecting the oil filter to be where it was, but everything worked out just fine. Also installed the fumoto valve that @g'dave mentioned.

Fumoto is the way to go! Total game changer...
How are you liking the Baja lights? Worth it? I was thinking of running them off an auxiliary switch

Forgot to mention the other day, I also replaced my 2019 blind spot sensors with 2020+ blind spot sensors so I now have the trailer blind spot feature working.

Agreed! I have one on the wife's 1500 as well. To be honest, never had them on a vehicle before, but I can see how much nicer it will make oil changes. I did enjoy the mity vac on the lady rover though. Oil and filter came off the top of the engine. Didn't even have to crawl underneath.

I like the lights! I got introduced to Ram's crappy backup lights on my wife's 1500. I "solved" her's with a rough country steel bumper with flush mount back up lights. I thought the trailer reverse lights in the mirrors of the 2500 would help a lot more than they do...

Thanks for that idea! I just ordered a pair based on your post. I just checked the direct Bushwacker site, and they were marked 10% off, so it was $166 and change, shipped, after tax. Said could be 90 days though. I think Amazon was $176 or $179.

great find!

Installed a "NO SPILL" oil drain kit at this last oil change. I like the fact it has a valve AND a cap as double insurance against oil loss.

Never seen a Kit like that, I like it, but I think I'll stick with my fumoto because there's a 100 - 110% chance I'd lose that fancy hose and adapter lol.

I use the valvomax system on all of my vehicles. Does make it nice! I also ordered them complete so I have plenty of drain tubes to prevent what @g00fy mentioned since I had the same fear!

So, as I am trying to cut back on getting stuff for a truck that hasn't show up yet, I started fiddling with the stuff I already got. I picked up some bolts that are a close color match to the Delmonico Red to put into the fake bead locks on the Method 305HD wheels I got. Here is a side by side comparison, kinda hard to picture if I will like how they will look without the truck. I've only replaced the bolts in two of the wheels, I'm thinking about having one side of the truck with the red bolts and the other side with the stock bolts to see how it looks before I swap them all out. I also painted over the Method logo in the center cap.two wheels.jpg

I do the same thing (AUX1 for bumper light & AUX2 for A-pillar lights). Seriously such an OEM like setup and clean/easy to install. The moment you turn it on when on a back road or even an unlit part of road, it becomes daytime again lol. Seriously one of the best investments to make.. quality lighting seriously pays its weight in gold.

What made me take the plunge was being out one night on a place called Stave Lake mudflats and we had a nice campfire with the kids. We stayed a little late and it got dark FAST.. then when we were packed up and ready to drive out of there, of course no lights on a lake that has a half mile of sand to drive on.. we could not for the life of us even with the high-beams find the exit back to the road (only one exit). It took us a bity of driving and I sure felt ill equipped even though knowing my truck would not get stuck and it was comfortable with the Carli kit.. I knew then and there that before I went out again, lights were a MUST. Then on the FSR out of there that same night, the headlights and high-beam had no help on my peripheral vision.. which makes a big difference when travelling twist tight gravel roads with drop offs.. so the A-pillar light from Baja is a game changer.. even though you can easily get away with just one or the other.. I have the lightbar with Driving/Spot combo and it is what turns the night into day.. but the A-pillar lights are angled toward the ditch a bit and wow, you would have no idea the difference it makes. Let alone the quality of the light.

I almost went with Rigid lights because of the blackout package and I know they are reputable as well.. but after discussing with a prominent off road shop near me, the consensus was the Baja lights are just more durable end of story. Plus the light output and products available/kits made for our trucks is on another level. I detail vehicles as a hobby and the fact that you can pressure wash the lights without worry (not that I would be dumb with it), makes further case to the durability claim.
