What did you do TO your RAM today?

I love mine, I've had them for two years. You can see where the wear marks are and how it save the paint there.

Initially I really liked the concept to protect from wear, but after looking at the install instructions, I'm wondering if those of us in salt belt would end up getting salt and brine trapped under them causing a corrosion problem down the line.

I do plan on removing mine in the fall to check and clean. A new roll of 3M tape is cheap compared to paint repair though.

I got this anti-slip grip tape on Amazon for around $25. It is 8" x 30", wanted it plenty wide enough for me to trim and long enough to have extra for the mistakes I will probably make on the first couple of tries.

After the dirt rubs thru the paint. Hell yeah.

For your Steps or door Sills?
Door sills.

I hadn't thought about the steps, my 2021 had shallow channels going lengthwise on the power running boards, but they didn't do anything for keeping you from slipping. I might try to make thin strips to put between the channels depending how much tape I have left. Thanks for the idea.

She got her 2nd oil change. Incredibly easy, quick and 0 stress with the Fumoto drain plug. The filter when I pulled it out did not have the cap installed all the way and had a small spill which was easily cleaned up and the precautionary cardboard came in clutch. Amsoil SS 5w40 & Amsoil filter.. added Hotshots secrets Stiction Eliminator (32oz) for the heck of it. At 15000km's this is my second oil change and first one using the Fumoto plug, I have nothing but good things to say about it.

As always and along with the first change, I sent some of the draining oil to Blackstone Labs for UOA and expect it to be slowly ridding itself of the typical sealants and break-in metals. I have stock for 2 more oil changes with the Amsoil and am a big time geek when it comes to this stuff, so the itch to try something else like Hotshots blue diamond 5w40 or Shaeffers is making me think to give one a try. I wish Hotshots Outlaw (big boost in zinc & only for deleted trucks) was made in 5w40 but they have stated 15w40 is all they are going to keep the formula to.

I do also have a nagging thought to try Rotella T6 as I have always had great experiences with Shell brand as a whole (love their stations and always seem to get quality fuel) and I think with all the people using it, you absolutely cannot go wrong.

I used Rotella T6 5w40 for about 150,000 miles (almost 1/4 million kms) in my EcoDiesel. Awesome stuff.
I never sent it to Blackstone, but other members on the Ram1500EcoDiesel forum did, and they always reported excellent results, even after 10,000 miles.

Mudflaps, Dash Cam & Bedrug today. (Funny, I kept my 1500 and today it's getting a Bedrug and seat covers for it's retirement to vacation house.)

Got a Duraflap question I posted over in "mud flaps".

Anyone installing the rear Duraflaps come across a conflict with the screw head above the spat screw? I probably skipped some instruction so I'm going back out. These are nice mudflaps, I'll post some pics.

Had to wash her as we are headed to some PRCA action tonight...and I tell ya, even though it's a HEMI - I feel like showing off my new truck!

I purchased the Mopar version - it came with predrilled holes that match up with all of the OEM screws. That screw on yours which is "behind" the rear mudflap should be removed so that the mudflap sits flush with the trim, and ideally would be tapped back through the mudflap. If I remember correctly, it's extra long, and will accommodate the additional thickness. the tricky part will be drilling the hole just right.....

G'Dave. I think we chose the best color of '22.

The Duraflap instruction show clearly with photos that I am to leave that screw and only remove and use the spat screw.
I wrote them an email with photo. They are immediate to reply. I told them I'd drill a hole in one hour but in 5 minutes I got this:

"Please do not drill a hole. Please step back and take a photo of the inside of the fender well so I can see what is going on...."

lol, I'll let you know what she says. Duraflap is very communicative with good install photos and fast email replies.

Not what I did but what I told her.. told her to expect another car seat as just found out the boss of both of us is pregnant with our 2nd. Seemed to go over as well as it could've.. hoping to be able to flip the orientation of car seats as I would prefer not to move my BlueRidge Overland seatback setup :p .. you know.. the important things...

I installed Duraflap screw-less mudflaps specifically for this 2022 2500 Laramie.

They did not fit per instructions.

The surface is mirror smooth except for the screw I'm instructed to leave alone.

I drilled them as I cannot wait around 6 hours to install some plastic. Now there is a 3rd screw - big deal.

The fit on the front is perfect.
IMG_6716 2.jpeg

The fit on the rear is fair. It helped to warm and bend them to the contour.
IMG_6707.jpeg

The look is good, for $250 - (forum discount 25 + shipping 25 = wash)

BOTH rear flaps came slightly damaged. The middle of each mirror-polished weights has a wrinkle right where the middle bolt is on the reverse. (Not easy to photo)

Sorry, if you're going to email me just for looking at your website and then act like these fit and you're the best company ever... should not make me wait 6 hours for a reply after telling me not to drill. They are ok, not above par and not without several faults, unexpected at this price point for a piece of plastic I could have cut from TSC for $20, ouch.

Fronts fit and look excellent. Rear doesn't fit this particular stock 2022 2500 Laramie.

It looks like you did a nice job with the field mod on the rears.

And yes, Billet Silver Metallic is the best color! Silver Bullet trucks. Flame on lol
