Started the titan tank install. What an absolute PITA, at least on my truck. The right side tank bracket is easy peasy. Driver’s side is terrible, due to the OE fuel tank severely limiting access to the bracket bolts.

Also, the first time I did it I didnt add washers as shims under one side of the bracket. So I had to undo it and make it level. The directions assume a flat bed floor.

The second time I installed the driver’s side bracket I realized that the tank wouldnt fit anyway, because the brackets were too close to the cab. So now I have to patch 8 holes and start over, for the 3rd time.

The directions are pretty vague on the tank placement. Would be much better to put the brackets in the tank, push the tank as far forward as possible, then mark the locations of the back end of the brackets. Then you could use the brackets as the drill template.

Anyway, not my finest day.

Will resume tomorrow evening if I’ve simmered down by then.

Sorry to hear about your challenges.
The flex tape products seem to be pretty good, used them on the bottom of a Jon Boat and on my little yard truck, maybe that would work for your extra holes?

Then a suggestion/word of caution may be for people that plan on doing bigger stock location tank and bed add-on tank to do them at the same time?

After sleeping on it, I’m now thinking about modifying the brackets such that I can use the holes that I’ve already drilled.

I’d cut off each end, weld an extension onto the back end of bolted down center section, then weld the original ends back on. Thus shifting the tank back the length of the extension. In this case, about 1.5”

I tried the template again and also marked the brackets when installed on the tank. My original holes were not too far off and bolt play should have given enough movement to work. I am going to try another approach tomorrow.

Controller installed, wires ran through a new grommet and into the engine bay and power connected to aux3. If all goes well, I should have 50 extra gallons on board by the end of the weekend.

nice, thank you for tracking your progress. Do you happen to know if there is a system to use the fuel in this tank for equipment as well?
I’m sure you could rig it up to do that with a T fitting and some manual on/off valves. But it only transfers 5gal at a time and you have to push a button in the cab each time you want 5gal. Plus, its flowing via a 3/8” line, so it will take some time for 5gal to transfer.
A more typical transfer tank would be the way to go for equipment, and you could then mod it to add fuel into the OE tank with the same type equipment from my kit.
