I relocated the camera mount to the bed and mounted the camera. I tested it and it was all good. Today I go to leave for camping and I can’t get it to work. Has a yellow line in between the truck and trailer on camera. It will flash like it’s going to work but it won’t come on. The camera works in regular mode just not trailer mode? I’m lost. The plug is tight and only goes one way? I stopped on the road and had it working but it was glitching and then I got a dash message digital camera not available see dealer? Then it worked again and now I can’t get it to do anything. The regular digital mirror works but trailer camera. I reached out to Jimmy but I wanted to see if anyone else had issues. Thanks

I had the same problem with mine. I took the bumper plug apart and found that the small pin connector was bent to the side so it only made contact at certain times.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. I am camping but will definitely look at that when I get home. Any help is appreciated after extra cost of camera and installing on camper.

I had similar issue with mine. Statically it worked fine, before moving connector to bed and after. First trip and it started going off, on, then off and wouldn't come on again. Stopped at rest area, powered on and it was working. Leave RA and same juju. Arghh. I wiggled connector at connection in bed and I could make it come on. Tried everything I could think of to make a solid connection. Ended up breaking one side of the split center conductor. Doh!
I am on extended trip, wife said call a dealer, so I did. One said no, don't carry. Other checked said there were 4 in denver and he could have it next day. Ordered and picked it up next day, tested before mounting by wiggling and it stayed on. Mounted it and ran 240 miles yesterday with many rough patches and it never lost connection.
Every thing was same except connector. So I am pointing the finger ->

Awesome thank u. I am going to start there just like the post mentioned. I am at a Grand Design rally in Michigan and don’t have time to work on it. I will Monday and look at that plug. Do you have a number for that plug?

Did you guys test the voltage at the camera. I don’t see anything bent and I have taken everything apart. I was wondering if it should be 12 volts at plug? I only have about 7.75 there. Thanks

OK I changed the farka cable I had on the end of the stock molar cable (50ft was not long enough). I had a 20ft on there and was able to go to a 10ft and then a 3ft. Really needed a 12ft cable but I could not find one. After testing the entire system and having voltage at the plug and then the camera working good at the end of the factory cable, I changed it and well ah the camera worked fine. I mounted it all up and secured it and it still worked. No glitching, stayed on and turned off and then back on again, it worked fine. So the story ends with a cable that was bad, I wish Mopar would sell an extension cable but I was unable to find that.

Just purchased our 3500 and Grand Design 5th Wheel, would love to relocate the camera port to the bed... any write-ups/YouTubes on doing this?
