What's the most annoying thing about your truck?

The Radio/Uconnect system. This is the worst system i have ever encountered on any vehicle and is honestly making me think about moving to a different vehicle.

There are a few other things here and there, but this is definitely the worst.

I will agree with the crappy radio. Unacceptable that it won't keep my stations in memory

I have an annoying rattle at idle that I am unable to find due to being deaf in my left ear (everything comes from same direction for me). When asking my wife she just states oh ya its rattling somewhere.
i have the same issue but for me its my right ear. together we are a whole ear... lol, but yes i KNOW the feeling.

Not being able to turn off the halo lights.

At night I just want the parking lights on at times without the white halo.

Maybe there's a way to turn it off? Hell, it took almost 2,000 miles and friend to tell me where the tow/haul switch was. Right NEXT TO the exhaust brake switch that I love! Go figure, not proud of that one.
that can turns off with AlfaOBD from what i have read on here.

We all love our trucks but nothing is perfect. What's the most annoying thing to you about your truck?

I'll start: I used my truck to go to the airport today for a business trip. First time in a while given the pandemic. As I pull up to the hourly parking garage (a necessary expense when you have a busy day and arrive 60 minutes before departure) the machine won't spit out a ticket and the gate won't open. Then I see the warning light: "overheight vehicle, go to long term parking." This means an extra 30 minutes to get to my gate, which caused me to miss my flight. So it's annoying that I can't use this truck to go to the airport for business travel anymore.

How about you?
Our airport has a height marker at the parking entrance, and it touches my windshield. Oh well, a dually won't fit in the spaces anyhow

Squeal from the exhaust on the Hemi until it warms up.
I get a vibration at 89MPH.
And the damn voice commands. I asked it to find macdonalds and it ask me did I want to call emergency. WTF!

3 Horn Honks when exiting with the motor running. (It’s annoying to everyone, and turns a nice looking truck into a big dork.) And… you also get the 3-honks if you have the accessory turned on with the motor off, and exit the truck.

U-connect System - The system is very fragile and not production ready. Someone should be fired for allowing this system to be released in its current state on an $85k+ truck. From the GPS screen going to black-screen while on a long trip, to the system loosing my trailer’s 4 tire pressure settings (TPMS). Geez.

Slow to non-existent reply from Ram for needed parts. My new 2022 truck (delivered December 2021) was delivered with a missing part on a Ram-box cover. That part is still on “back order” 5 months later. This missing part makes the Ram-box cover miss-aligned. The truck looks sloppy. My new diesel truck also threw a code and it needs a new DEF pump. That DEF pump has been on “back-order” now for a couple months. This is my first Ram and I am not impressed.

The air conditioning. It's just ok. I drive a Ford work truck all day. So cold. Then I get in the Ram and ... meh.
It actually is decent if its hot out. But say it's like 70 degrees out and you turn on the ac. It's pretty much warm unless you put it on max ac. It's like the ac is saying it's not that hot you sissy.
I have a tradesman with regular ac.

My AC is also okay-ish (2019 2500). If it is too hot out, the AC struggles to keep the cabin cold.

Our family SUV gets cold within minutes and keeps cold regardless of the outside temperature.

Have you had the TSB done? I think it applies to 2019 trucks.

  • My A/C is ok after the TSB work. I also have a shutoff valve on my heater core. Really helps.
  • I have the horn honk issue turned off with AlphaOBD.
  • I really hate the lack of telescoping wheel, knee hitting the 4WD buttons, and the fact that the clock can't keep time.
You turned the 3 horn honk off with AlfaOBD? Please enlighten me/us.

Check the dome light... mine rattles there occasionally and I just shift it around and it stops.

yup that chirp chirp chirp is not only annoying it is embarrassing. Kid at the drive said "mister a drop of oil on the squirrel cage fixes that"

My brake pedal clunks and rattles over rough roads. I’ve read of others having the same noise, with no solution. That’s my biggest gripe, so not too bad in the grand scheme of owning the truck.

Our Jeep did the same thing. I used a small bungee ball and put some side tension on the pedal to take out the rattle/slop. Jeep is a 12' about to hit 100k and bungee still their and no rattle for almost 10 years now.

I'm not wanting it off all the time, I just wish there was a switch for when I don't want them on in certain situations.
@Jimmy07 any feedback on this, if the presence lights are disabled via AlfaODB, are they turned on via another sequence or can they be turned on by adding a switch?
